take sinarest one tab at night for 3 days. take honitus 2 tsf 2 times a day for 5 days. do gargle, take steam. consult physician if not ok.

Hello lybrate-user,
regular smoking will lead to occasional coughing and congestion in the chest. Firstly you need to quit smoking. You must take steam inhalation atleast 2-3 times in a day. Steam will loosen the phlegm that might have stuck to the small air passages in the lungs. It will also help in releasing the phlegm from the air passages.

Hi. I understand your concerns. You might be having bronchitis which is caused due to smoking. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigations like chest x ray to look for infection. If it's normal then you will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for diagnosis and also to assess severity of bronchitis based on which treatemnt can be started. If you are having Chronic cough
1.Do a complete blood examination like CBC, ESR, Mantoux test, X ray chest, Sputum examination for AFB.
2.Consult Chest physician with report.
3.Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily,
4.Avoid smoking.

Better join quit smoking programme. Fix a date for quiting, take support of freinds and family. Avoid smokers. Avoids things which remind smoking. Use nicotane replacement gums. Can use buperion for withdral symtoms.

take following medicines
nat suph 30 4pills to be sucked once a day for 15 days
kali bich 200 4pills to be sucked thrice a day for 15 days
take plain water steam once a day
avoid eating curd, icecreams, pickles, papad, citrus fruits, watermelon, green skin bananas, pineapple, strawberries, custard apple, guavas.
Stop using mosquito repellants.

Dear Lybrateuser, - You have to stop smoking as it is causing harmful effect on your respiratory system, the colour of your sputum has turned black because of smoking
- do steam inhalation twice a day - avoid dust, smoke, cold fluids including aerated drinks - have more of warm fluids, water, tea, coffee, milk, soup
- have a well balanced diet containing more of fruits & vegetables, whole grains, legumes, beans, sprouts, peas
- do regular exercise like walking, jogging, playing games...more

1. Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily
2. Take viscodyne d syrup 2tsf thrice daily if it is a dry cough or viscodyne syrup if cough is associated with sputum
3. You may have to take antibiotic along with it after consulting doctor, if no relief4. Avoid smoking if you smoke.
