Corns can be treated with homoeopathic treatment. The holes or dead skin that you see in the corn are keratin plugs which are at the centre of the corn/callosity.
advice
1. Dip your feet in warm water for 15 minutes and clean the area with a pumice stone.
2. Use soft footwear.

The corns, once they grow into the subcutaneous layer, then the corn caps or acid based creams are of no use. the excision will give u a complete relief of the acute symptoms. further recurrence prevention will be guided to u accordingly. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of garlic not only help prevent infections but also treat corns. Rub half of the garlic clove on the corn and let it dry. Cover it with a bandage and leave it on overnight. Remove bandage the next morning and wash your feet with warm water.
