In high degree of refractive error, may it be myopia or hypermetropia, extended wear contact lenses are great boon. In young age high power of glasses pose great problem. Some cases are suitable for lasik surgery but all are not. Soft contact lenses do not permit oxygen to permeate and hence they can be worn only for short period. Never when you go to sleep. If not cared properly, there can be severe corneal infection and due to protein deposits, these lenses have to be changed after 9-12 months...more

Variety of contact lenses is used to correct refractive errors. Soft Contact (hydrogel) Lenses are most often used in various types of refractive errors but they have certain disadvantages. These lenses do not permit adequate Oxygen to pass through which is essential for health of cornea and hence they can be worn for limited hours, i.e 6 to 8 hours maximum and never while sleeping. The tear proteins get deposited on these lenses which limit their life to about a year. If worn for prolonged peri...more

Hi.

As some artificial thing comes in direct contact with the our eyes, it causes slight irritation, dilatation of the blood vessels and increased visibility of redness if the lenses are worn for long hours together!
There are few more possibilities. You may have developed an allergy or sensitivity to the contact lens material, or the sterilising solution.
You could also simply have developed a dry eye, in which case you should only wear your lenses briefly to begin with and tr...more

Hi.
Hold tap water in your flexed palm, dip your one eye closer to the water level, shut and open your eyelids often. Do the same with your other eye. Repeat this whole process 1-2 times more in a day.

Give your eyes proper rest.

Can keep slices of cucumber or potato or used tea bags over the closed eyes for sometime.

Instill 2 drops of Euphrasia eye drops in each eye twice daily.
