there are few precautions and if you follow those then thers is no need to worry.
Never sleep with contact lens on
do not swim or take bath while wearing contact lens
keep them clean and maintain in proper solution when not in use.

Glasses, contact lenses and surgery are the only three options for good vision if you having spectacle power.
surgery you cannot do before age of 18
till then you can try contact lens.
they are safe if used in prescribed manner
