Asked for male, 28 years old from Kolkata

Hi doc. My name is gazi (male )and I am 27 years old. Last 5 years I have ulcerative colitis. My main problem is bleeding form rectal when I take prednisolone I am fine eg. Start with 40 mg reduce and stop with 5 mg so 8x5 = 40 days and. Max 3 months more I am fine after that again start bleeding also continues with mesacol 1.2 also I took azathioprine (azoran) but those medicine can't stop bleeding only prednisolone is a solution for me what can I do. And if I start taking prednisolone again is that any problem? In a year how many time I can take prednisolone and other medicine available? In 5 year I took 8-10 time pendisilone thats in advance :) let me know the solution.

I put mesacol od tablet in a glass of water for 3 hrs but after also the tablet was unmelted and was remained same as I put in water. Is that a duplicate medicine.

Why do not you swallow the medicine as whole. Why you need to dissolve in water. To dissolve in water you ve an equivalent preparation called rowasa granules.

This is for my son, capt. Shounit kapur. Age 43 years. He is staying in bangalore I think he suffering from colitis for the last three to four years. Since he is in flying his meal timings are not regular. Apart from this he has to eat stale food or go without food for long hours. He has got his endography done up about one year before and in the report reddishness and little swelling has been indicated in large intestines. He has been taking homeopathic medicine but has not got permanent relief. What happens that sometimes when he eats he immediately start getting loose motion and he has to go again again. He also gets pain in the lower abdomen. Initially pain also increases. Then he takes some homeopathic medicine. The pain subside but it does not give complete relief. Since he is bangalore he cannot come to you. Therefore in case you can allow him to talk to you and get the prescription, I will be very thankful to you. He is taking medicine budez cr capsule 3 times before food, mesacol od 1200 mg 3 tab after food, probiotic capsules 2 tablet, dozep50 also for sleeplessness. Still he is feeling pain in stomach and going bathroom min. 10 times falling blood every time, always feeling fever. Please consult medical gastroenterologist in your area. If there is not much response to above stated treatment, immunosuppression and monoclonal antibodies is the next possible option. Some individuals who do not respond to this as well are candidates for surgery i.e. Colectomy, where affected portion of colon is removed.
