Polycystic kidney disease (pkd) is an inherited kidney disorder. It causes fluid-filled cysts to form in the kidneys. Pkd may impair kidney function and eventually cause kidney failure. Since it is an inherited ailment so a review of your family history is required.
To diagnose all three types of pkd, you may need to undergo an imaging tests to look for cysts of the kidney, liver, and other organs.
A treatment may include pain medication, a low-sodium diet, surgery to drain cysts etc.
