These genes carry the instructions for making proteins that are needed in cells within the retina, called photoreceptors. Some of the changes, or mutations, within genes are so severe that the gene cannot make the required protein, limiting the cellís function. Other mutations produce a protein that is toxic to the cell. Still other mutations lead to an abnormal protein that doesnít function properly....more

Hello,

Vitamin B12 if taken through natural diet will be proved to be beneficial.
Supplements usually do not give proper supply of this particular vitamin.
Include low fat dairy products, soy and its products, shellfish, eggs, meat in your diet.
If still insufficient, consider taking its shots.

Hello
1. Retinitis pigmentosa is a progressive disease
2. Speed of progression varies from person to person. I have seen patients going bling at young age of 30 years and I have seen patients having good vision even at age of 50 yrs. So, you can go for 6 months perimetry test and that will guide you the rate of progression.

First and foremost double vision is a binocular phenomenon in this case. So you cannot say double vision is in one eye only. Myesthenia gravis is a disease affecting all voluntary muscles in the body. So adequate treatment for the disease is a must.
Muscle exercises will not help in her case. Consult the physician who is treating her for myesthenia and get the dose of her medication adjusted.
