The mouth is the first organ that takes the brunt of smoking. The teeth, lips, cheeks, tongue are all affected by smoking. While most are worried about the discoloration of the teeth and lips, the damage is actually quite deep rooted literally and figuratively. Rest if its generalised in all your mouth than either it could be because of deposits which requires geneal or deep cleaning or it could be because of any deficiency or any allergy.

If the pain continues even after taking adequate rest please see your Obstetrician for a check up. Chewing gums is generally safe but ensure that your wife maintains good oral hygiene and does not suffer from dental caries.

This is a very good initiative and resolution you're taking. If you are really committed then quitting is not difficult. You need to start by reducing the no of cigarettes you're taking per day. In place you should take gums like nicotex. Slowly reduce the no of cigarettes to alternate days and then stop altogether. But you need to follow it strongly and not succum to the urge.

Yes, nicotine can suppress appetite. You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting a reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged on. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but d...more
