Birth is a experience of women which may be good or bad but psychology`it is blissful for women. There are two types of giving birth: 1) natural 2) epidurals Due to pain, anxiety and fear in giving natural birth, many women prefer epidural delivery. This delivery comforts the labor pain. For each there are complications and its after side effects. 1) epidural ;Cesarean delivery (c-section) Epidurals given in a surgery performed by doctors are called cesarean delivery (c-section). This type of process reduces the pain during delivery. It is also performed if there are any medical complications. Many times women have premature delivery, child amniotic problems so doctors advise to go with c-section. Types of epidurals given while performing the surgery: 1. Transforaminal epidural steroid injection This epidural steroid injection is done by inserting the needle at the roots of the spine i. E. A region where nerves start to go into the body. It goes by irritating the area of spine through back to leg making it numb. 2. Caudal epidural steroid injection We provide these shots in the lumbar region of spine, lower part. This helps in sciatica. 3. Interlaminar epidural steroid injection ; These shots are universal in nature, given anywhere in the spine. Back, leg, arm pain are treated by these shots. Benefits: The greatest point in epidural delivery is that it has potency for painless delivery. As there are many contractions in the abdomen during delivery some will feel pain but pain will decrease much as compared to natural birth. An anesthesia (epidural) is given at the time of delivery by cesarean method. There is a lot of pain by removing the baby from the womb because it is a method in which incision is done in the lower abdomen. Due to fear of pain during natural birth many women across the world choose to have cesarean delivery. ; If you need to deliver by c-section, an epidural allows you to stay awake during the procedure and provides pain relief during your recovery. An epidural given nowadays has potency to make you alert so that you can experience birth. It also allows you some comfort while using vacuum and forceps to take the baby out from the womb. Some women have longer labor procedures so anesthesia given can make patients rest. ; Risk factors after epidural delivery are: Back and stomach pain Aching in the head. Stitching area may pain and sometime bleed ; Fever Vomiting, eating problem Blood pressure can lower down It lessens the contraction of pushing the baby out It freezes the muscles and helps in urine, which gets to normal after anesthesia levels decrease to normal Blood transfusion is increased in this procedure Immunity of the baby is decreased by this delivery Risk factor during delivery: 1) soreness 2) headaches 3) she may have breathing problem 4) lowering of bp The women who select epidural surgery there are at risk of losing blood and weakness after delivery. Recovery takes longer than vaginal delivery. This may also make patients vulnerable. 2) natural natural birth is done through vagina which is the natural way of delivery in mammals. It doesn't require any medication support. When water breaks (amniotic fluid comes out) the baby comes out of vagina, the doctor helps it to come out using hand and pressure on the stomach. On complications vacuum is used in the process and sometimes forceps used to incision the vagina wall to make it flexible. Benefits: It does not require any medication which affects the body s natural response to delivery. There is no loss of mothers blood. It is a very good point because till delivery mothers body has weakened severely. It does not take time and does not have many complications. After delivery the recovery time of mothers is less as compared to epidural given birth. ; Body can heal on its own but medications are needed. Labor pain helps in mechanisms of production of milk. Blood transfusion of mother and baby is decreased. Pain aids brain development after birth. Oxytocin is released, whichia love hormone, to deal with post pregnancy depression. Risk: The perineum, vagina wall, and its area gets torn which requires stitching. This pain will be severe for a few days. Vagina muscles loosened after deliverywhich is loss in sexual point. Hemorrhoids are the major problem. This usually goes away in a few days but many times it persists and causes many difficulties. ; Bowel issues are also a major problem. Constipation is usually severe which is corrected after months. Irregularity of urine is seen in such delivery. Very few suffer psychological trauma like fear and anxiety. There is severe pain in the pelvic bone during delivery. Conclusion: Epidural surgery at the lower abdomen is a lengthy and complicated procedure. If we don't have any medical emergencies we should avoid them. Patients who fear should get consultation and have normal delivery. Normal delivery improves and aid procedures needed in baby later development. Nowadays due to medical advancement there is no complication.
