Advice for an expectant mother is plentiful to come around from family and friends. While it may be well intentional, it may not be the best advice possible. One of the things most people would advise is to avoid exercising as it may affect the health of the mother and the baby. This is in fact a very wrong advice as expectant mothers like everyone need exercise to stay fit and healthy. The only difference from normal people is that certain types of exercises may not be suitable for pregnant women and the nature of exercises may change from trimester to trimester.

Some of the best exercises during pregnancy

  1. Swimming: This one is in fact recommended by doctors as the best and the safest exercise for pregnant women. Swimming is beneficial because of the following reasons:
    • It has immense cardiovascular benefits
    • Large muscles groups are exercised in the process
    • Helps reduce swelling and inflammation
    • Helps with low back pain and relieves the stress on your spine which is caused due to the extra weight you are carrying around.
  2. Walking: This is one of the safest exercise during any trimester as long as you don’t over exert yourself. Walking promotes blood circulation, improves heart health and is all around a good exercise for pregnant women. The key is to invest in a good pair of shoes for walking so as to prevent the knees and legs from jarring and also to support your upper body properly.
  3. Stretching: In the later trimesters, it may be a little difficult to manage other exercises as your body becomes heavier and movement may bse limited. However, you can do basic stretching exercises to improve mobility and also help with circulation.
  4. Weight training exercises: Certain exercises which utilize the weight of your body rather than external weight can be performed easily. You can also use lighter weights to help keep muscle tone and strength. A few examples of these exercises are:
    • Side leg lifting: Lie on one side and lift one leg up slightly higher than hip height. You can use your forearm for balance in this case. Keep lifting the leg and hold it there for a few seconds and do the same motions a few times for repetitions.
    • Curling and lifting: Sit on a chair with your back straight with 2 to 4 kilo weights in each hand and curl up your hands up to the shoulders. Sit with your legs spread apart but comfortably. Also start the curl with your fore arms at a 90° angle from your elbows.
    • Yoga and meditation: Yoga is possibly one of the most well suited regimens during pregnancy. Pranayama and meditation can definitely help you be more at peace and also manage many of the changes happening in your body in a much better fashion.

Low thyroids indicate poor metabolism and definitely will be accompanied with weight gain ,swelling anywhere o. The body or all over the body, laziness,feeling tiredness, tendency to day sleep ,heaviness of head etc. The best is to promote your metabolism by staying active. 53 is a good age to join a good group of workout sessions be it yoga or dance workout like zumba etc or even some walking groups. Make a mix of pepper ajwain turmeric and dry ginger powder all in 3qual quantity and use 1 tsp of this powder mix to 1 glass of boiling water. Like tea. Filter and drink once in the morning and once in the evening. Will be a good substitute for green tea or black tea. Whenever possible avoid white sugar and sweet foods. Yiu may use brown sugar or jaggery of tempted. Sugars as they slow down metabolism and inturn bad for thyroid issues. Also avoid milk and milk products. Butter milk after removing the cream can be used occasionally. Milk and Curd is a big NO. Disease not due to organism are due to internal errors in the body. Which can be corrected by reversing the bad habits into good habits. The trouble of starting something new is just for a week and after 7 days body starts realising the benefits of healthy habits like exercising and dietary changes and respond well. The back ach is possibly because of weakening back muscles due to lack of exercise .start with a routine 30 kin to 45 in walk and then slowly switch on mild lying down exericises and so on and even suryanamaskar like yoga. दही हमारे देश के भोजन परंपरा का अहम हिस्सा है. ये स्वाद में बेहतरीन होने के साथ ही पोषक तत्वों से भी भरपूर होता है. दही में मौजूद तमाम ऐसे पोषक तत्‍व इनसान के शरीर को कई प्रकार की बीमारियों से बचाने में मददगार होते है. यह सेहत और सूरत दोनों संवारने में काफी मददगार होता है. इसमें कैल्शियम, प्रोटीन, विटामिन पाया जाता है. दूध के मुकाबले दही सेहत के लिए ज्यादा फायदा करता है. क्‍योंकि दूध में मिलने वाला फैट और चिकनाई शरीर को एक उम्र के बाद नुकसान पहुंचाता है. इस के मुकाबले दही से मिलने वाला फास्फोरस और विटामिन डी शरीर के लिए लाभकारी होता है. दही में दूध की अपेक्षा ज्यादा मात्रा में कैल्शियम होता है. इसके अलावा दही में प्रोटीन, लैक्टोज, आयरन, फास्फोरस पाया जाता है. आइए हम आपको बताते हैं कि दही आपके शरीर के लिए कितना फायदेमंद है.

2. टाइप 2 डायबिटीज का खतरा कम करें: दही के नियमित सेवन से डायबिटीज टाइप 2 का खतरा 28 प्रतिशत तक कम हो जाता है. दही में प्रोटीन, विटामिन, कैल्शियम और सैचुरेटेड फैट्स अच्छी मात्रा में होते हैं जो डायबिटीज टाइप 2 से दूर रखने में आपकी मदद करते हैं. इसलिए अगर आप डायबिटीज से परेशान है तो अपने आहार में दही को शामिल करें.
3. पेट के लिए रामबाण है दही: दही पेट के लिए बहुत फायदेमंद होता है. पेट की बीमारी से परेशान लोगों को अपने आहार में दही को प्रचूर मात्रा में शामिल करना चाहिए. पेट में जब अच्छे किस्म के बैक्टीरिया की कमी हो जाती है, जिसके चलते भूख न लगने जैसी तमाम बीमारियां पैदा हो जाती हैं. इस स्थिति में दही सबसे अच्छा भोजन बन जाता है. इसमें अच्छे बैक्टीरिया पाये जाते हैं जो पेट की बीमारी को ठीक करते हैं. यह इन तत्वों को हजम करने में मदद करता है. दही में अजवाइन मिलाकर पीने से कब्ज की शिकायत समाप्त होती है.
4. त्‍वचा के लिए गुणकारी: चेहरे पर दही लगाने से त्वचा मुलायम होती है और त्वचा में निखार आता है. दही से चेहरे की मसाज की जाये तो यह ब्लीच के जैसा काम करता है. गर्मियों में त्वचा पर सनबर्न की समस्‍या को दूर करने के लिए दही मलना चाहिए, इससे सनबर्न और टैन में फायदा मिलता है. इसके अलावा त्वचा का रूखापन दूर करने के लिए दही का प्रयोग करना चाहिए. जैतून के तेल और नींबू के रस के साथ दही का चेहरे पर लगाने से चेहरे का रूखापन समाप्त होता है.
5. बिमारियों से लड़ने की क्षमता बढ़ाए: इसके नियमित सेवन से बीमारियों से लड़ने की क्षमता में भी बढ़ोतरी होती है. गर्मी के मौसम में दही और उससे बनी छाछ का ज्यादा मात्रा में प्रयोग किया जाता है. क्योंकि छाछ और लस्सी पीने से पेट की गर्मी शांत होती है. दही का रोजाना सेवन करने से शरीर की बीमारियों से लडने की क्षमता बढती है.

लू से बचने के लिए दही का प्रयोग किया जाता है. लू लगने पर दही पीना चाहिए. दही पीने से पाचन क्षमता बढती है और भूख भी अच्छे से लगती है. मुंह के छालों के लिए यह बहुत ही अच्छा घरेलू नुस्खा है. मुंह में छाले होने पर दही से कुल्ला करने पर छाले समाप्त हो जाते हैं. दही के सेवन से हार्ट में होने वाले कोरोनरी आर्टरी रोग से बचाव किया जा सकता है. दही के नियमित सेवन से शरीर में कोलेस्ट्रोल को कम किया जा सकता है.

* आवश्यकतानुसार ही खाएं.
