If the discharge has been persisting for some time, there are two things to be done. One blood test is required along with medicines for 3 months. Secondly, a mammogram or USG at a good centre if possible. Do not panic but it is definitely desirable to be cautious and rule out all possibilities.

Dear vani,

U may apply vitamin E oil on the nipples as vitamin E oil has rich properties for soothing and conditioning the skin. Calc flour ( homeo medicine)is also used to treat the problem, application of it in salt form cures the problem in short duration. Application of olive oil or sweet almond oil is also effective in curing the problem. These can be applied topically on the nipples during the lactation intervals and washed before next feeding.

Please note that it is not normal to have discharge from the nipple. It is normal only while breastfeeding. This problem could be stress related because of which you have some hormonal imbalance and in result breast discharge. You need to get your blood test to be carried out to check all your hormones in place or not also a physical examination of breast need to be done to know the exact cause of problem.
