I suffered from acute brain hemorrhage in the right basil ganglia with mild surrounding edema about 1 month ago. I want to ask about the precautions to be taken during my recovery period? Should I be consuming alcoholic items or tobacco related items such as 'zarda' or pan masala. Kindly help me in achieving my recovery status back to normal as soon as possible. What food items should I avoid and what to eat so that I can maintain better health! Thanks in advance.

Don't take oily food. Just try to reduce the amount of oil while cooking. Don't take full cream milk. No butter.

Health Query

I had a mild stroke in May 2016. CT Scan was normal but MRI revealed cerebral and cerebellar atrophy besides small blockages in brain. Taking atorvastatin and Clopidogrel and Tetrafol plus and Baclof OD but almost no improvement though position is not worsening. Seek your opinion. Somebody talked of stem cell treatment. Can it be useful and safe? What will be approximate cost? What is the success rate? Or do you suggest any alternative treatment. I am 63 years old and no diabetes. Very mild BP and lipid profile normal. My father had also suffered from this ailment. Kindly advise.

Continue Atrovastatin, Clopidogrel and Aspirin. Those are standard medicines. Exercise everyday, maintain normal sugar.
No need for any alternative treatment.

My father age 75 years suffering from full body joint pain. severe pain in joints all over the body symptoms developed since last two weeks. He is psoriasis patient and taking medicines since last 10-15 years. Weight is loosing rapidly and now has only 52 kg. He was of 75 kgs before some years. As per the doctor no clotting were found and hence it was expected to get recovered in 6 months to one year time. It can be a pain due to muscle spasm. Drugs are available to reduce pain but her kidney functions are altered and so required to give medicines under doctor's vigilance.

The area damaged due to brain stroke recovers on its own depending upon the severity of damage. The standard medicines are blood thinners (ecosprin and clopidogrel). Physiotherapy helps a lot. Do not have much idea of ayurveda or any alternative medicine. Till now there has been no drug/ method to reverse the neurological damage.
