If the wisdom tooth is functional then its worth saving it by doing root canal treatment otherwise a nonfunctional wisdom tooth is universally advised as" removal is the best treatment"

Decay in a tooth is removable. The space left inside the tooth after the decay is removed is a cavity. That cavity can be restored in multiple ways depending upon the extent of loss of tooth structure.
Extraction of a tooth will cause movement of the adjacent and opposing teeth leading to tipping and loss of space. It would be advisable to save a strong tooth as far as possible.
