If your pain is more in the distal joints, ie. In the upper limbs if the pain is present in the fingers/wrist and in the lower limbs it the pain is present in the toes/ ankle, then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Dear Lybrateuser, - The swelling could be due to injury to the soft tissues such as ligament, tendons & subcutaneous tissue
- give rest to the part, avoid putting weight on the foot, use a walker or crutches till swelling subsides
- apply ice pack for 10-15 min 3-4 times a day
-take tablet Brufen, 1 tablet three times a day after meals to reduce swelling
- elevate the limb while sitting or lying down
- apply compression bandage to reduce swelling.
- give rest to the part, avoid putting weight on the foot, use a walker or crutches till swelling subsides
- apply ice pack for 10-15 min 3-4 times a day
-take tablet Brufen, 1 tablet three times a day after meals to reduce swelling
- elevate the limb while sitting or lying down
- apply compression bandage to reduce swelling.
