Hi lybrate-user,
It may be a problem if your wife is carrying an rh positive baby and is already sensitised to rh positive blood. Your doctor will advice blood tests to find out about the same and will give injection to prevent any complications from happening. Also regular monitoring may be required.

Since both of you are There negative there doesn't seem to be problem in your pregnancy. Problem happens if mother is negative and father is positive
so sit back and relax.

Your wife should get her ICT test done ,if negative then fine. When she conceives at 28 weeks of pregnancy she will have to take antiD vaccine .after delivery if baby's blood group is negative then nothing to be done ,if positive then your wife will receive another dose of antiD vaccine within 72 hrs of birth.
When mother's bld GRP is rh+ve and baby's rh-ve there are chances that baby may suffer from jaundice ,to prevent this antiD vaccine is given.
If patient receives her antiD Vaccines...more

Somewhere something is misunderstood. Theoritically sperm O pos and egg O pos can not give rise to B pos child. Recheck all blood groups is first step.

If mother's blood group is rh -ve and babies blood group is rh+ve then there is a risk of neonatal jaundice in baby ,to prevent rh-ve mother's whose husband's blood group is rh+ve are given anti D vaccine at 28 weeks pregnancy, vaccine is again given within 72 hrs of delivery if babies blood group is rh+ve.
The risk is very less in 1st pregnancy ,increases gradually in subsequent pregnancies. But if the mother recieves anti D vaccines in time then the risk is negligible.

Depending on whether she was inadeverently, exposed to positive blood because of previous abortion, or injection or blood transfusion problem may occur during first pregnancy otherwise usually never happens during first. Even in second most of the cases have no problem if precaustions taken from first.
One needs to blood test antibodies (rh) during pregnancy and blood group of baby after birth and special injection in some cases.

It needs consultation with gynecologist who can go through detailed medical history of both, examination and reports of both after which advice can be given to start supplementation and vaccinations prior to pregnancy.
In view of age better to do everything at the earliest and also to understand and accept extra risk in view of age.
