I have been diagnosed as enlarged prostate gland with low flow of urine in the range of 10. I am 56 years old and having this trouble since 2014. Six months back owing to severe urine infection PSA level was 10, which has come to normal after medication. Again my PSA is 4.210. Earlier since Mach 2018 I am taking Silofast, which has been changed to now Floral 10 mg. Urologists is advising of removal of prostate gland now if urine flow does not improve after one month. What is your opinion? What will be sex life after removal of prostrate gland? I am having no blood pressure and sugar.

Hi sir. If you feel improvement with medical therapy then continuing same is an option. If there is no improvement or development of complications then surgery might be required.

My uncle is diagnosed with BPH. Our urologist gave him medication for almost an year. But now he suggests TURP. I recently saw some articles which talks about probability of prostate cancer in patients after TURP procedure for patients done on diagnosis of BPH. So little worried on the TURP procedure. Can you please suggest me.

TURP doesn't cause prostate cancer. Sometimes prostate cancer gets incidentally diagnosed after TURP procedure.

Hello doctor, I am suffering from discontinuity flow of urine so my doctor checked up and advised me to take Rapilif 4, after using that my semen gets totally decreased, so can you please advise me that, should I stop taking it or is there any side effects for future purpose. Rapilif causes this side effect, alternative medicines are available tell your doctor this issue ,he will change the drug.

I am using a urinary catheter for 30 days till date and also consuming Tasulin D for enlarged prostate and BPH for 7 days now. Can I extend the usage of catheter for another 7 days so that I can consume Tasulin D for another 7 days and then remove it. Please help me with your suggestions Dr. Thanks in advance.

7 days is enough for tamsulosin to work. Remove catheter if you void continue medicine and if urine stops again then you need prostate surgery.

I am suffering from BPH. Enlarged prostate. I have residual urine of 150 ml. Suffering from incomplete emptying of urinary bladder and feel like frequent urination. I have been taking alfoo but since it has increased my heart rate, I consulted urologist and presently taking silodosin 8 mg daily. Doctors are advising me for prostate surgery. Will I able to continue my sexual life after surgery? Any side effects from surgery? Or should I continue this tablet life long? Please help.

Silodosin will hamper your sexual life not surgery. Silodosin is known to cause Ejaculatory dysfunctions.

Bladder capacity is low. Usually we advice surgery for urinary retention or residual urine 200 cc or more what are your symptoms? It maybe you need surgery as bladder capacity is less.

Your father has two diseases 1cholelithasis 2b. P.h for which turp has been done. Now for cholelithiasis he has to be operated upon I chole cystectomy has to be done.
