Hi , you can imagine sebaceous cyst to be a plastic ball in the skin. If you puncture it, the contents will flow out but recur after sometime. Since its like a covering no medicine can enter the cover or dissolve it. So the only way is to for surgery. Mostly its a very minor surgery taking about 20 min and done under local aneasthesia. If done by a good dermato surgeon, the scar will also be minimal.
