Early Signs Of ASD In Toddlers!

Early Signs Of ASD In Toddlers!

Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD is a condition associated with brain development. ASD affects the way an individual perceives others and socializes with a group of people. This disorder shows up in early childhood; it includes repetitive and limited behaviour patterns and thus, makes it difficult for the affected child to interact or communicate with others.

The word ‘spectrum’ in ASD refers to a range of signs related to the condition. Some children develop the symptoms of the disorder right from infancy, while others exhibit the same within 12-36 months of birth.

Signs to Watch Out for-

Early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder in toddlers include-

• Reduced eye contact
• Lack of response (to their name)
• Difficulty learning things
• Trouble communicating
• Speaking in an abnormal tone
• Repeating words, not knowing where to place them in a sentence
• Inability to express feelings/emotions
• Inappropriate approach to social interaction – being aggressive, destructive, or passive
• Difficulty recognizing non-verbal cues
• Lack of coordination
• Oversensitive to touch, sound, or light
• Repetitive movements - spinning, rocking, hand flapping

Every child with ASD has a unique behaviour pattern.

If you notice the above traits in your child and are concerned about his/her development, then you should visit a doctor right away. A specialist can recommend an appropriate line of treatment to manage the symptoms and help your child thrive despite being autistic.

Autism and Nutrition – Is There Really a Link?

Caring for an autistic child can be challenging on many levels, and healthful eating is no exception. A child living with Autism Spectrum Disorder may not be getting enough nutrients, primarily because they are not patient enough to sit through their meals.

If your child has ASD, you should definitely reach out to a paediatrician. He/she will most likely prescribe a ‘special diet’ to provide your child with the essential nutrients.

• Switch to a casein-free, gluten-free diet. Exclude foods such as – fishes, eggs, seafood, soy products, nuts etc. Children with ASD have an abnormally leaky gut, and these food items often cause inflammation in the gut. This further deteriorates the symptoms.
• The doctor may recommend a low-fat, high-protein ketogenic diet – cottage cheese, avocados, poultry meat, coconut oil etc.
• Serve your child a good portion of vitamin-rich foods – cereals, fruit juice, oatmeal etc. However, make sure that you are aware of any allergic reaction your child may have before incorporating these in their diet.

Health experts state that for children living with this condition, a balanced, nutritious diet can make all the difference in the world – it can improve their learning ability, help them to express themselves more and process information better.

Autism - How Homeopathy Can Tackle It?

Autism - How Homeopathy Can Tackle It?

Are you suffering from autism and looking for an effective treatment for the condition? Autism is a complex neurological disorder, which is commonly diagnosed in children within three years of age. It is a result of impaired brain functioning and it expresses itself in the form of disrupted social and communication skills in the patient. This condition affects the development of a child by a great extent.

Autism happens due to several structural and functional changes in the brain. The exact cause of the condition is yet to be determined. Genetic predisposition, metabolic imbalance, intake of certain drugs and the exposure to harmful environmental toxins may lead to autism in children.

Homeopathic treatment
Several protocols of homeopathic treatment are undertaken for treating autistic patients. The method to be used depends on the circumstances of the condition. A variety of homeopathic techniques are required for curing a person with autism. They include the following:

  1. Isopathy is a treatment in which a substance is given to the patient, which cause the illness during homeopathic potency
  2. Classical homeopathic medicines
  3. CEASE Protocol
  4. Homeopathic bowel nasodes, which are considered to be an important part of the recovery process from autism. They help in healing damaged bowels and the symptoms of anxiety and rage.
  5. Biochemical tissue salts are used in autistic patients who face problems in the assimilation of nutrients because of a compromised gastrointestinal tract.

The methods work effectively, along with conventional medicines and other treatment measures like GAPS diet, osteopathy, biomedical intervention, cranial sacral therapy, chelation, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Homeopathic approach towards the treatment of autism
The homeopathic approach in the treatment of autism is holistic in nature, which aims at treating the genetic tendencies along with strategic management. Firstly, a homeopathic evaluation is undertaken for a child with autism, where all details regarding his family medical history, which may be associated with autism, are assessed. The analysis also considers the impaired functions of a child such as his behavior, communication, speech, tantrums and social skills.

There are around 20 different types of common homeopathic medicines, which are prescribed for the treatment of autism. The exact medicine, its combination, dosage and other support medicines depend on the child’s case history.

The homeopathic medicines used for the treatment of autism are completely natural and safe, devoid of any form of harmful toxin. Hence, no side effect is caused on the body while undertaking homeopathic treatment. Using homeopathic measures for about six months will lead to improvements in a child’s autism symptoms.

This is basically caused by a combination of environmental and genetic factors. Several risk factors are also there such as rubella or valproic acid infection during pregnancy.  Autism affects the process of sending information to the brain by changing the synapses of the nerve cells. However, the signs of autism often evolve slowly usually parents notice these signs in the initial years of their child's life.

Symptoms of Autism
Autism is basically a very highly unstable neurodevelopmental disorder which appears initially during infancy and then firmly follows without remission. And, the eating behavior might also be unusual at times.

  • People affected with autism might be severely impaired in some way or they might be evenly superior in other ways.
  • Some symptoms begin gradually after for 6 months and becomes well established by the course of time when they reach the age of 2 to 3 years and steadily continuous through adulthood.
  • Symptoms of individual occur basically within the general population and it pretty much appears not to be associated itself highly, separating common traits from being pathologically severe.
  • Infants with autism show very little attention towards social affection and tend to smile less often and take time to respond to their own name.

Autism - All You Must Know!

Autism - All You Must Know!

Autism refers to the conditions characterised by the challenges with repetitive behaviors, social skills, speech, and non-verbal communication in a person. It is a condition which is related to brain development and interferes with social interaction. People still think that autism is a long-lasting neurodevelopmental disorder with no treatment or cure till date, but this is not the truth. Autism is a distinctive energy signature of the state of existence or being and a complex developmental disorder.

Specials schools and special education are supposed to help the autistic child progress and advance in their learning capabilities and other fields of talents and interests.

Autism spectrum disorder starts in early childhood and after a period of time causes problems such as functioning and socializing, for example at work and in school. Usually, children show symptoms within the first year and then experience regression in the middle of 18 and 24 months of age. Other children might develop in the early months or years of life, irrespective of the disorder, then suddenly become aggressive or withdrawn or lose the language skills that they have already acquired. Usually, signs are seen by the age of 2.

Every child has a unique level of severity and pattern of behavior from low functioning to high.

Some children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) indicate lower than normal intelligence and some have difficulty in learning. Other children with ASD have normal to high intelligence. These children learn quickly yet have difficulty in communicating with someone. This unique mixture of symptoms can sometimes be difficult to identify. It is usually based on the ability to function and on the level of impairment.

Common symptoms include the following:

  • Problems in social interaction and communication

  • Difficult and variable patterns of behavior

  • Lack of facial expression

  • Poor eye contact

  • Delayed speech or lack of it

  • Failure to respond to name or hear at times

  • Inability to express feelings or emotions

  • Unawareness of other’s feelings

  • Inability to understand simple directions or questions

  • Trouble in recognizing non-verbal cues, like interpreting other people’s body postures, facial expressions or tone of voice

  • Performing such types of activities which can cause self-harm, such as head-banging or biting

  • Non-engagement in peer group

  • Fixation on an activity or object with abnormal focus or intensity

  • Difficulty with coordination

  • Performing repetitive movements, such as spinning, rocking or hand flapping

Autism expert is the person who identifies the results of improvement in the child from day one. In simple language, a person who is an autism expert is supposed to heal the limiting symptoms in the child or cure it, and not simply declare that there is no remedy or cure for autism. The expert should be able to help the child and his family manage and cope with the symptoms and disorder for a better overall quality of life so that the child becomes independent and is able to survive on his own when grown up.

Homeopathic Treatment For Autism! - Know About Its Diagnosis And Diet!

Homeopathic Treatment For Autism! - Know About Its Diagnosis And Diet!

Nobody knows the exact cause of autism. All medical science knows is that it’s a complex neurological disorder which is detected within the first three years of life and is caused due to structural changes in the brain. Autism causes a number of symptoms which grade from mild to moderate to severe, like-

  • Difficulty in communication and social interaction
  • Language impairment
  • Preoccupation with fantasies
  • Repetitive acts (echolalia)
  • Excessive possessiveness to certain objects
  • Intellectual impairment
  • Over-sensitivity or under-sensitivity to pain
  • Developmental problems

Genetic predisposition is the most common cause of autism. Exposure to environmental toxins is the other. Other causes are the use of certain drugs during pregnancy, vaccinations, etc.

Diagnosis of autism can only be done by clinical evaluation as there are no laboratory tests for it. The psychiatrist prepares a detailed developmental case history of the child before arriving at a diagnosis.
There are a number of Autism screening tests to diagnose autism as well. One thing to always follow is to go to a psychologist who has a history of the treatment of autistic disorders.

Theories are emerging that autism may be caused by a super sensitive child’s response to foods like gluten found in grains and casein, a protein found in milk. These transform into substances that act like opiates in the child’s body.

These drug-like substances alter the child’s behavior, his perceptions, and his responses to his environment. Recent research has found chemicals with opiate activity in the urine of a significant number of children with autism.

Autistic children have shown mild to dramatic improvements in speech, behavior after going on a gluten-free, casein-free (GFCF) diet.

Some of the foods that can be eaten on GFCF diet include rice, quinoa, potato, buckwheat flour, soy, amaranth, corn, fruits, vegetables, beans, tapioca, meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, nuts, eggs, and sorghum, among others.

Homeopathic treatment of Autism:

  1. The homeopath carries out a detailed study of the family history of serious diseases which are linked to the development of autism in his patient.
  2. The genetic evaluation of the patient is followed by case analysis which takes into account impaired functions in the patient like repetitive behavior, lack of social skills, speech issues, etc.
  3. The homeopathic medicines indicated for autism are twenty and are usually given in combinations. A homeopath takes the decision about the exact medicine to be given, its combination with other support medicines, the dose and its repetition based on the case history of the child.

By no means should one try to cure autism by self-medicating on homeopathic medicines as this can cause deleterious effects.
It usually takes a minimum of six months for some perceptible changes in autistic children. Homeopathic treatment may have to be continued for over a year if the symptoms of autism are very severe.

Mother's Health - How Does It Directly Impact The Recovery Timeline Of Autistic Child?

Mother's Health - How Does It Directly Impact The Recovery Timeline Of Autistic Child?

Autism is a common neurological and developmental disorder. Children affected by this type of disorder often demonstrate repetitive, restricted, and stereotyped patterns or interests of behaviour.

Children are one of the most precious resources for the future of society. The health of children is very important for the future. However, today, many children suffer from neurological problems such as Cognitive Disabilities, Autism, etc. or serious health problems such as Diabetes, Asthma, Food Allergies, Depression, Cancer, etc.

In the USA, approximately 30% of children suffer from serious mental or physical problems. These rising estimates apply to Autism too. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the chances of Autism are approximately 1 in 68 now, and this number is rising day by day.

These numbers come as a red signal to the researchers to think about a solution that not just limits the symptoms, but can also cure it fully with no symptoms at all.

How to deal with an autistic child?

Dealing with an autistic child is not an easy task, especially for mothers. It is highly stressful for a mother to have a child who is suffering from Autism. The bond and love between the mother and her child are unconditional. Having an autistic child and to deal with it is one of the most difficult tasks on this planet.

To add to this fact, most mothers are unaware that there are Evidence-Based Medicines (EBM) to gain freedom from the limiting symptoms of Autism, which increase the risk of women delivering an autistic child. This further increases Autism cases globally.

Most people think that Autism is not curable. However, according to a recent document published by the Neurological Health Foundation (NHF), the health condition of the mother plays a vital role in the ability of the child to fully recover from thee limiting symptoms of Autism.

How does mother's health impact the recovery process of an autistic child?

Advancement in the treatment of Autism through Epigenetics and Applied Intentional Epigenetics has ensured that the health condition of the mother helps a child to be free from limiting symptoms of Autism. According to the Epigenetics, the health of the mother is connected with mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being of her.

According to the recently published paper titled “Parental Olfactory Experience Influence Behavior and Neural Structure in Subsequent Generation” in journal “Nature and Nanoscience”, fearful experiences of mothers are passed on genetically to their children.

Neurological disabilities including Autism can be prevented by improving nutritional status and reducing toxic events from mother’s life. It is said that a healthy mother without any stress and anxiety will have lower chances of delivering an autistic child.

This is why a mother should be healthy and emotionally fit to deal with and help her autistic child to recover fully and limit all the symptoms of Autism.

How does mother of an autistic child deal with it?

According to the Applied International Epigenetics, “energetic stress” covers all type of stress. Preventing energetic stress from mother’s life will directly impact the timeline of recovery of an autistic child. Mother of an autistic child should control and manage her stress and anxiety level to understand the child’s inability to talk or communicate.  She should help his/her child deal with this problem with love and emotional support.

Take Away:

Maternal health is very important and directly helps an autistic child to recover fast and all the limiting symptoms of Autism. With the help of Epigenetic methods such as Applied Intentional Epigenetics and Applied Energy Medicines, one can surely PREVENT and REVERSE the genetic transmission of Autism. Following these two techniques as early as possible will directly impact the timeline of recovery of an autistic child.

Autism & Technology - What Should You Know?

Autism & Technology - What Should You Know?

Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a type of neurological and developmental disorder. Children are the ones primarily affected by this type of disorder. Children suffering from autism usually face problems in communication or social interaction.

According to a report in 2014 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 1 in 59 children are suffering from ASD. However, according to the prediction of MIT researchers, by the year 2025, nearly one in two children will be diagnosed with ASD in the USA. The incidence and prevalence of ASD has been increasing phenomenally worldwide.

These increasing estimates cannot be ignored and there is a dire need for a solution to cure Autism. There are many treatments and therapies available in the field of medicine. However, to reach all communities that suffer from Autism, there is a need for a "solution" that can be easily accessible and help in limiting the symptoms of Autism.

This is where technology works brilliantly.

Autism Spectrum Disorders!

Autism Spectrum Disorders!

United Nations has declared April 2nd as the world autism awareness day. Autism is an illness where the child may have problems in communication, social behavior, learning and language. In the last few decades, a lot has been researched on autism. It is important to identify autism at the earliest so that interventions can start early. There are treatment options available for autism. Very few centers in central India identify autism and provide treatment. Treatment principles are based on training the child in a specific way to cope up in communication and language defects with the help of a psychiatrist, occupational therapist, vocational therapist and child psychologist. Child therapists also train regarding parenting skills in autism. A therapy program based on these principles is also known as applied behavioral analysis (aba).

It has been seen that children suffering from autism can have extraordinary capabilities in some fields like music, mathematics, etc and can do exceptionally well in society. Awareness in society is very important especially among the teachers and parents of other children because these children often have to face discrimination from their peers and society. It is important to know the difference between intellectual disability (mental retardation) and autism. A child with autism can have a supranormal IQ. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree you are definitely not doing the right thing. Let's end the stigma and spread awareness.
