Supportive psychotherapy
Structured psychotherapies
Structured psychotherapies etc

Medications may also be used to treat narcissistic personality disorder, both allopathic and Ayurvedic.

Yoga, pranayam, meditation are of much importance. Once you motivate the pt start into this, there ll be rapid improvement.

I got married 3 years back (arranged marriage). My husband is the only son to his parents. I live with my husband and in-laws. My mother in law is a mental patient. If she shouts at my husband & his dad, my husband takes her words seriously & starts fighting with her rudely like breaking things near to him or keeps hitting his own hands on the wall. My husband gets very upset by her words and gets angry. (knowing her mental condition). My father in law is tired of telling my husband not to fight with his mom as she is a patient. My father in law can't leave my husband and his mom alone at home and go anywhere. If my husband starts fighting with his mom, someone should be there to control him. Since my mother in law is a mental patient, she wants to dominate others. If anyone goes against her, she starts shouting and crying thinking others are neglecting her. All she wants is love. She gets jealous if I am happy with my husband because she thinks her son may forget her. So she is not happy with me and my husband's relationship. I didn't know all this before marriage, my husband should have told me about this before marriage but he didn't. I married my husband and all I want is to live a happy and peaceful life. I don't want any expensive things. My mother in law wants me to be with her all the time & she doesn't let me live with my husband. 1 or 2 days it's fine. I can not sacrifice my married life for her. I tried to convince her but she is not getting convinced. If she doesn't get convinced in this matter, she gets upset and starts shouting. If she gets upset, my husband also gets upset and starts fighting either with me or his mom. I don't know why. I asked my husband not to get upset deeply as I am his future too. He says "listen to my mom and do what she says, otherwise divorce me" if I listen to her, she will be in good mood and my husband will also be in good mood. To keep her in good mood, I can't sacrifice my life for her. If my husband doesn't get upset even if she gets upset or tensed, he will be in good mood and I can live a normal life with him. But I don't understand why my husband gets upset if his mother gets upset. He gets so upset by her words that he either becomes completely absent minded or starts fighting with her or with me very rudely. In that case someone should be there to control him. Can you please answer me, why my husband does so or would any man do the same thing as my husband?

You may have had symptoms at an earlier time in your life. Ocpd is a fear-based disorder and if the fear is not identified and dealt with in therapy, you could continue to suffer. I suggest that you seek the help of a counselor too. The behavior will then become based on magical thinking and certain rituals will become necessary to do normal things making you believe that either the frequency or the ritual is important to its success. This of course is a fallacy but there will come a time that e...more

Dear lybrate-user, bipolar disorder causes serious problems in your life. Whereas sexual problems can be discussed and adjusted with your partner. Please give a thought to it.
Sexual problems can be due to diabetes either partially or fully. Discuss with your physician about it.
There are no medicine without side effect. You have to weigh the effect vs side effect. Divaa is not an addicting medicine. You need to take it for your life just like diabetes and thyroid medicines.

I don't understand what you mean by your statement that you are not feeling well. You have not been in therapy for all these years is not a good sign. You must seek the help of a counselor and work on your issues, develop skills, tools and techniques to deal with your problems. So comply with all the medical prescriptions and work in tandem with a counselor for a long time and learn coping skills and techniques to handle the daily challenges you will face. There are certain adaptations that will...more

Hello,
you need to be very careful about risk of recurrence of symptoms in pregnancy as it is a high risk state for patients with bipolar disorder. Quitipin 50 mg per day is too low a dose. You should consult online or consult with your psychiatrist about pregnancy.
