Hello Mr. lybrate-user thanks a lot for the kind query. Allergies and asthma goes hand in hand. On a safer note, try avoiding milk and milk products especially at night and also if you have a habit of eating fruits in dinner, it can be avoided as well. I can also guide you on some food and lifestyle as well to control the asthmatic attacks as well. If you are ok to come in for a consult for ayurveda, I can guide you better, you are advised to come on a private consult with me. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

I am 23 year old female. I'm known asthmatic since childhood and had been mild and not frequent. Recently I contracted covid 3 months ago and from day-10, asthma attacks started everyday. I used seroflo 250 twice a day for almost 15 days. Then I was put on oral steroids for 10 days, preventive inhaler and montemac lc by doctor. Despite the use of oral steroids, it was persistent. Then I was advised to use budesonide inhalers and montemac lc everyday. Now its been 3 months, if ever I miss montemac lc/inhalers even a single day, I feel shortness in my breath and so much of pressure/tightness in my chest. Recently montemac lc is replaced with montair fx because of dizziness problem. My questions are 1) how long do I need to take montair fx? Is there any remedy? 2) since its been 3 months post covid, is taking covid vaccine advisable? If so what kind of precautions do I take?

Yes you can go for vaccination. 1. Do saline gargles daily. 2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected. 4. Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results and gives relief in long term consult online with details.

If you wants to cure your problem permanently then it's not a permanent solution this will worsen the condition, so if you wants to cure your problem permanently then you have to do proper homeopathic treatment, you can contact me through Lybrate in private consultation.

Diamox kind of medicine should not be used without advise of a senior ophthalmologist. It reduces fluid in eye. Pressure of fluid in eye should not be much or low beyond limits. So pl do not be careless and ask ophthalmologist by getting latest check. During acute mountain sickness also it should be used as suggested by your ophthalmologist or the one at base camp etc.

You need not panic about inhaled steroids, they don't have much effect on the other parts of the body. Only injected steroids and steroids taken orally, have effect on entire body. If your asthma is controlled, continue with it. If not, you will need additional medications on top of inhaled steroids, but they are the basic medicines.

Unless your friend has severe allergy, there is no reason to avoid. Keeping the inhaler handy is safe. However your friend will be in a better position to discuss her past history if she can consult directly.

I am suffering from allergic asthma, I am unable to know what is triggering it. It happens usually when I return to my home town. When I take medicine and I get out of my area. Everything goes normal. I used to live in delhi, gurgaon and not area which is even more polluted. I belong to bihar state. It is happening since I was a kid (10 + years). I am taking medicine from nearby allopathy doctor. He says its incurable, it can be suppressed. Its like I have to take medicine for life. Please suggest.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. But as a chronic lung condition, asthma doesn't completely go away once you develop it. Asthma is an inflammatory condition that narrows (constricts) your airways, which in turn creates permanent changes to your lungs. I have asthma from the age of 9. For the last two years I am suffering from breathlessness upon the slightest exertion or merely on going up two to three rounds of stairs. I often get blurred vision even though I use spectacles. Of late I have been experiencing tingling sensation in my chest / heart recurring four to five in a day lasting for few minutes. I got vaccinated for covid 19 on he 3rd of june 2021. Post vaccination I have been suffering from stitching pain behind my ears extending to my throat which increases when I lie down. The pain subsides once I start moving but comes back later. I use budamate 200 and duolin inhalers one puff twice daily. I also inhale steam once or twice daily. I am at a loss to understand the cause of my problem. Kindly advise.

What you explained is called an acute exacerbation or attack, you can said undercontrol, if you don't have symptoms for the 2 to 3 years. So you need to be evaluated for the reason of attack and treatment to be continued, and remember precautions are the first steps for control of disease.
