Lybrate user,
it's not a good practice to stop the medications abruptly, without your psychiatrist's advice. Your symptoms may be reappearing in a few weeks. The medicines you are on are supposed to be taken for a long time and if your doctor thinks to stop them, the dosages will be tapered systematically. Better consult your psychiatrist.

the dose depends on the need, so don't worry. There are also other medications which are as effective or more effective if this does not work out. So do not lose hope, get your symptoms under control and live life to the fullest. Good luck.

Hello, clonazepam acts very quickly on anxiety but is not a definite treatment for it. It will help in initial period but will stop acting after sometime and moreover it is addictive. The right treatment for you is you take ssri like tab escitalopram 10 mg in night time along with clonazepam. Subsequently dose of clonazepam will be reduced and eventually stop and escitalopram will be continued.
P.s. Do not take clonazepam for more than a month and keep on decreasing the dose every week.

The exact cause of depersonalization-derealization disorder isn't well-understood. Some people may be more vulnerable to experiencing depersonalization and derealization than others, possibly due to genetic and environmental factors. Heightened states of stress and fear may trigger episodes.

Your are being treated for a fairly serious condition and I recommend that you seek the help of a counselor too. There are certain adaptations that will suit you during the elation phase and there are certain behaviors that are required during the depressed phases. In the meantime, you can do certain things that will give you benefits anyway. Emotional therapy will alleviate a lot of the problems faced in this condition because it is a mood disorder. You need to particularly look at your levels ...more
