Anal fingering is unlikely to cause cancer. Sexual transmission e.g. HPV is possible due to sexual contact with some other person. Doctors do a pet rectal examination of patients with bleeding, obstruction etc, but they use gloves with Local Anasthetist Jelly for the same. Anal cancer can present as a growth, bleeding, inguinal lump due to nodes or fecal incon...more

Dear mam, cancer is a disease caused by abnormal uncontrolled proliferation or growth of cells. It may present as lump which is mostly painless and uncontrolled unnoticed. There may be non healing ulcers, abnormal bleeding, weight loss etc depending on organ effected. We must be cautious of any changes happening in our body and must take anything that persists beyond a usual period say for over a month.

The basic reason for a cancer is a genetic mutation that is defect in genes that either causes excess multiplication or prevent natural death of cells. Such an uncontrolled growth is cancer. Why these genetic mutations occur is difficult to decipher and no one cause can be blamed for it. But there are risk factors. Like no pregnancy or a delayed one is a risk factor for bre...more

Hi lybrate-user,
I appreciate you seeking help. Well, not every acute pain, in and around anus, is due to cancer. I would advise that you consult a gastro-intestinal (GI) specialist or any general surgeon to clinically examine your condition and recommend treatment apropos. Fissure is usually not related to colon cancer. But piles may be rarely due to compression of the veins by Rectal cancer.
Better to see a general surgeon, who would examine you and decide the further course of action.
