Your might be suffering from lazy eye or amblyopia as we call it. Your eye surgeon should be able to tell you the cause. If it's refractive error use glasses as prescribed. If eyes already lazy at your age it's difficult to regain full vision but strabismus can be corrected to improve cosmesis.

You could be having Amblyopia (lazy eye) in Right eye. At grown up age it is usually not possible to improve vision in that eye by any means. Such eyes can be treated upto 8 years of age. You should accept vision as it is and move on in life. You may get your squint cosmetically corrected by surgery.

Male. I have a problem in my eight eye. My right eye causes disturbance in looking. I can't see anything clearly with my right eye. For example. I can't read any letter , word, sentence from any distance. My left eye is Very much accurate. Its so good that it doesn't make me feel anything abt my right eye. Everything is blur with my right eye. I went to Nepal , methi Eye Hospital. They has done many tests But they couldn't find the solution. Finally the Report said that this problem is from my birth. It can't get cured , neither it will become further worst. It will remain the same. And since my left eye is perfect so there won't be any disturbances. Conclusion - I don't have any disturbance in watching something when both my eyes r open. But only if I close my left eye and try to watch with my right eye then everything is blur.

Lybrate-user, you seem to be diagnosed with a lazy eye or amblyopia in the right eye. It is not unusual for poor vision in one eye to go unnoticed if other eye has good vision. His is why we stress on regular eye exam by an ophthalmologist. A trial of left eye patching or occlusion may help in improving vision in right eye. Recent studies have shown visual gains in lazy eye upto 20-24 years of age with patching done for the first time.
Do go back and discuss with your treating doctor.

Dear , according to your history your nephew is most probably suffering from amblopia or may be due to some retinal pathology. By occlusion therapy and/or with few exercise on synaptophore vision usually improves. So do not discourage. Go to appropriate centre. Good luck.

Hello
You must consult local ophthalmologist and he will perform cycloplegic refraction to evaluate if any glasses are required
Moreover your child is old enough. We have many techniques which can give us fair idea about vision
Trreatment of squint depends on type and amount of deviation. If required. Early surgery is better.

Hello. Patching therapy is definitely useful if done at a specific age range. It helps in reducing the squint as well as improving the visual acuity. Other options available to improve squint in the eye are:
(1) surgery for the squint. It should be done after patching therapy has been tried or else if there is a risk of vision loss in the affected eye due to amblyopia.
(2) certain eye drops are useful and act as an indirect patch for the eye.
(3) glasses. Certain types and degrees of...more
