It can cause loss of vision, including loss of depth perception and two-eyed 3D vision. It's treatment can yield improvements at any age, but early detection can offer the best chances for a cure. Your refractive error can be cured total quality of vision can't be improved. If you have squint due to it then it can be corrected by surgery (for cosmetic purposes).

There is currently no treatment for optic atrophy.
If one eye has optic atrophy and you still have double vision then it is called uniocular diplopia and the problem could be in your cornea/lens or you could have increased intraocular pressure. Get your eye checked by a reputed qualified eye doctor and when you go for a checkup carry all the medicines you are currently on.
