Dear lybrate-user
ssa
I can understand how you feel and having cetrizine will make you sleepy as well sometimes.
Ayurveda has brilliant way of dealing with allergy. When the nasal mucosa become dry, it easily cracks and also a sensitive mucosa will always be sensitive to temperature change, dust, pollen etc.
Should you need any help in this regard, request you to come on a private chat with me.

Dear User, the allergy is due to a a trigger by some material or dust or pollen. If you can identify the trigger and remove it, then you can stop the medication. However if you stop the medication and you have the trigger factor around, you can still get allergies. I would recommend you to take the tablet only when there is an allergic reaction and to identify the trigger factor and remove it before completely stopping medication. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a Positive feedback a...more

It is better to find out the root cause for the allergies and changing it accordingly rather than taking medications lifelong. The problem is once the effect of the medicine wears out, the allergy symptoms will come back. It will be better to meet an immunologist and avoid the trigger factor. After prolonged use, the dosage will have to be increased to give the same effect as the body will undergo resistance.
