Hi lybrate-user,
dexona has nothing to do with alcohol addiction treatment. Its not advisable to take any medicine without a clinician's advise. Please consult an addiction psychiatrist nearby, who can help you quit alcohol with safer and effective medications.

Hi Lybrate user,
appreciate that you are able to acknowledge your addiction and aware of the medicine which is working for u. Please don't switch over from medicine to medicine and try to adapt to the same medicine which is suitable to you irrespective of side effects, with the consultation of doctor. Meanwhile, try to keep your lifestyle active, consult a psychologist and work on your emotions. Join yoga and work on your breathe. This will help you in the long run. All the best.

Hello lybrate-user. I'm so sorry to hear this. Alcohol is an addictive substance and any person can get dependant on it, especially if used over a long time or in heavy amounts. It is common for a person to lose his inner inhibitions and sensibility under alcohol intoxication, and get aggressive with oneself or others. To help with this, the best option is to consult your psychiatrist for a detoxification program.

Dear Pragya,
I hope you know what will happen if you skip the dose. Alcohol along with it depends on whether you drink wine/beer or hot drinks. It depends on the quantity also. It also depends on what food you take along with alcohol, whether you will be driving after drinking and whether you have any medical illnesses, your weight, etc.

Hello Lybrate user,
addiction is a disease. It will increase slowly, even we can not understand when it increases. It's better to stop the alcohol totally. If you want fun you can take intrest to develop your other hobbies like reading books, listening music, playing sports etc which will be healthy for your life.
Iif you want we can start the counselling session to come out of the disease of addiction.
Have a good day & have a speedy recovery.
Thank you.

Diazepam, is to treat alcohol withdrawal and should not be mixed with her drinks. From your description and her usage of other substances, I suggest that you admit her in a rehabilitation center. It will be difficult for her to handle this condition on her own or in the surroundings of her home: she has gotten conditioned to the environment and there will be too many stimulants around her making it really difficult. In the rehabilitation center they will consider her requirements for medication ...more
