Hi, I am 40 years old and I have all symptoms of ADHD and going through divorce and always had trouble in personal life from the age 0 8 with father ,colleges, friends and I am almost alone, everyone initially give me so many lectures later when I can not be according to the they hate me and leave me, every 6 month my job and manager change. Never I could perform any where.

Do not diagnose ADHD on your own. Please go to a psychiatrist with all your troubles and it is her/his work to diagnose you and treat accordingly. Your troubles could be due to borderline personality disorder also where the treatment is different.

According to the NIH, these are the three main signs of the condition in kids over age 3: inattention. hyperactivity.There is no cure for ADHD, though both medical and psychological treatments can help control symptoms. Around one third of children seem to grow out of their disorder during adolescence, but the others find their ADHD persists into adult life.

ADHD child can be treated the disease causes abnormal electrical impulses in brain and the child needs counseling as well Certain parts of the brain may be less active or smaller in children with ADHD than those without the disorder. The brain chemical dopamine, which carries signals between nerves in the brain and is linked to movement, sleep, mood, attention, and learning, may also play a role.

My son 6.5 years old. As per my observation He is suffering from attention deficiency, too much non responsive to study, he has remarkable recognition ability. His behavior is not so so obedient with elders and also facing problem with speaking/ language. I found him very attentive during watching the TV, mobile phone as compare to study. He has ability to learn but not focusing for the same. Was it Attention deficient disorder. Please suggest any therapy. Drugs.

My son is 7 years old and having mild ADHD, he has concentration problem in his study. Doctor has prescribed him 10 mg axepta for 10 days and now he has increased his dosage to 18 mg, my question is how long my child have to take this medicine or it will continue for long life. Is there any negative impact on body in future. Please advice I'm worried by reading few negative reviews online about axepta.

Hi. Axepta is a drug for ADHD. And your doctor has increased the dose from 10 to 18 mg. Thats a normal treatment. Yes you have to give the drug life long. And these drugs do come with side effects but our main concern is not the side effects but to make the child relived of his symptoms. There are many othe drugs apart from it which can help him. Usermy father aged 64, has a medical history of bipolar disorder since past 5 years, he is on continuous medication and his condition is also improved. For last 1 year he is also on medication for high bp and also experiencing constipation .since last 1 week his constipation has become severe bp is rising and most importantly he is going through memory lost and also not responding much to conversations. I think your daughter may be treated for Bipolar 1. I suggest you take her immediately to a counselor and treat her with talk therapy too. In her later adolescence, there are likely to be some unresolved issues that may go as far as prenatal influences. It comes up at this time seeking a resolution. I am 43 years old unmarried woman. I am 78 kgs and 5' 2 inches. I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I feel anxiety. Mujhe dar lagta rehta hai. Mujhe ghabrahat hoti rehti hai. Mera mood off rehta hai. Mera kaam karne ka mann nahin karta. I feel no motivation to do any work. I am taking divaa - 500 mg two times daily, sizodon ls one time at night and ativan 2 mg daily one time at night. I am taking etilaam 0.5 for ghabrahat. Mujhe yeh medicines lena ke baad bhi motivated feel nahin ho raha. Is this treatment right?

Discuss your symptoms with your treating psychiatrist and get the medications revised if they do not help even after taking for a month or so. Many times it is difficult for the psychiatrist to get all the symptoms under control in one go, so give him/ her time and for most the symptoms subside over a period of time. Even after say 3-6 months you still feel unsatisfied, get a second opinion. Good luck.
