ADHD child can be treated the disease causes abnormal electrical impulses in brain and the child needs counseling as well Certain parts of the brain may be less active or smaller in children with ADHD than those without the disorder. The brain chemical dopamine, which carries signals between nerves in the brain and is linked to movement, sleep, mood, attention, and learning, may also play a role.

As of now get his eyes checked for refractive error and follow up with reports and as of now no medication needs to be given till diagnosis.

Hi. Axepta is a drug for ADHD. And your doctor has increased the dose from 10 to 18 mg. Thats a normal treatment. Yes you have to give the drug life long. And these drugs do come with side effects but our main concern is not the side effects but to make the child relived of his symptoms. There are many othe drugs apart from it which can help him. I think your daughter may be treated for Bipolar 1. I suggest you take her immediately to a counselor and treat her with talk therapy too. Discuss your symptoms with your treating psychiatrist and get the medications revised if they do not help even after taking for a month or so. Many times it is difficult for the psychiatrist to get all the symptoms under control in one go, so give him/ her time and for most the symptoms subside over a period of time. Even after say 3-6 months you still feel unsatisfied, get a second opinion. Good luck.

I hope you're keeping well. I understand that you have been diagnosed with adhd and are currently taking ritalin, but it's not giving you the desired results.
There are indeed other amphetamine-based medications available in india, such as adderall, but I would advise caution when considering such alternatives.
