Consequences will be very severe. He should stop alcohol immediately. Acute pancreatitis mortality rate is as high as 60 percent. Pancreas will recover but not 100 percent as some part may have become atrophic by now.

take low fat diet.Small meals at frequent intervals to give rest to pancreas.plenty of fluids.sometimes doctor can ask you to go without food for a couple of days or take only clear fluids.that can also help to heal pancreas.

Avoid red meat
1Take Bland diet, avoid spicy, oily, fried and junk food. Avoid meat. Use vegetable oil like olive oil
