Madam, in women following menopause because of lack of estrogens there is an increase in the bone loss. This leads to osteopenia and later osteoporosis. Therefore treatment for preventing the bone loss is to give estrogens or a combination of estrogen & progestin plus calcium and vitamin d3. The drug prescribed to you also is supposed to help reduce the bone loss. There are some side effects, but if you can tolerate the same then please go ahead. Thanks.

Physical exercises and life style changes are very helpful in this problem. Running and chest exercises are good for this. Avoid fast and junk food. Avoid fried and spicy food.
