The most common type of abscess is a perianal abscess. This often appears as a painful boil-like swelling near the anus. A fistula is a small tunnel that makes an abnormal connection between the site of the abscess and the skin. In some cases, an anal fistula causes persistent drainage.

Liver abscesses form usually in young males who frequently have alcohol history . Treatment depends on the extent of the liver abscess , location and symptoms of the patient . It can be treatment by oral medication , may require percutaneous drainage or may even require surgery in more advanced disease . After drainage of the abscess , the patient recovers very quickly on clinical basis but lesion may take time to resolve on Ultrasound
