It is autosomal dominant meaning 50 % of children have chance to get same.
Evidence shows that the syndrome is associated with an increased risk of extraintestinal malignancy, especially carcinomas of the pancreas, breast, and reproductive organs.

My son (13 years) has been diagnosed with bipolar depression. He is having this problem for last 2 years, but has been diagnosed 4 months ago. He is on medication. He is not going school for last 4 months, not ready to study at home n had severe phobia for studies n exams. Tried all methods but no counselling is working for him. Not only studies but other aspects of life are also affected. He has a great phobia of “IF”. Like if I will fail the exams, if this will happen, that will happen n so on. He is very much stressed about future results. Understands the situation but when it comes to studies or going school he gets panicked n feels helpless. After that he has guilt feelings also for not going to school. I have checked other aspects also but he says that it’s all about studies. He had been a brilliant student. 2 years ago v moved to Gurugram. He scored well in exams except one subject (due to festival n family gathering). And teacher passed on a comment regarding less marks.

If there are genetic reasons for his condition and any childhood experiences that contributed to his condition, he needs to deal with that in therapy. When the anger is turned inward...more

Currently, there are no treatments prescribed for PVL in Allopathy. All treatments administered are in response to secondary pathologies that develop as a consequence of the PVL. Because white matter injury in the periventricular region can result in a variety of deficits, neurologists must closely monitor infants diagnosed with PVL in order to determine the severity and extent of their conditions.
Patients are typically treated with an individualized treatment. It is crucial for doctors to...more
