TREATMENT FOR ARTHRITIS

Many people suffer the aches and pains of damaged or inflamed joints. The term arthritis covers a group of more than 100 diseases that involve inflammation of joints and discomfort in connective tissues throughout the body. In many parts of the world the disease is called rheumatism. 

Aches and pains are called different things by different people, painful inflammation brings with it swelling, pain and redness. The damage occurring in bones and tissues of the joints makes them stiff and often makes them stiff and often makes movement difficult.

Arthritis may be chronic disease, as opposed to an acute disease, which is serious for a while, is treatable, and goes away with treatment. Some forms of arthritis do not go away but can be controlled with treatment.

The most common forms of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is sometimes known as the wear-and-tear disease or old age arthritis. It is solely a disease of the joints that occurs with increasing frequency with age, though it does affect people as early as age 35.

It begins gradually and may remain mild for some time.Rheumatoid arthritis is inflammatory and attacks more than the joints. It may cause disease in the lungs, skin, blood vessels, eyes, spleen, and heart.It is a chronic disease, but in some cases acute spells occur when inflammation flares up unpredictably.

EARLY WARNING OF ARTHRITIS 

There are four major warning signs: 

Persistent pain and     stiffness on arising Pain, tenderness, or     swelling in one or more joints 

Recurrence of these     symptoms, especially when they involve more than one joint Recurrent or persistent     pain and stiffness in the neck, lower back, knees and other joints .

 

Rest, exercise and physical therapy are important components of the treatment plan in arthritis. Sometimes a daily routine of many 10 to 15 minutes rest periods helps people who have arthritis. Some plan to rest awhile each day after their at home exercise sessions. Each individual seems to be able to find the routine that is most convenient and makes him or her most comfortable.Individual with rheumatoid arthritis may feel extremely tired at times, and those are the times for additional rest periods and reduction of activities.All parts of your arthritis treatment plan will interact. 

In addition to rest and exercise, what you eat is important. Diet in arthritis can help you  reduce your weight, which puts extra stress on weight-bearing joints.
