Keratoconus can be controlled and not cured c3r corneal collagen crosslinking is treatment of choice to halt progression in cases which progress. Your age is 31, and keratoconus usually stabilises by 35 or 40. If not severe, usually does not cause blindness.

You can think of lasik laser surgery. Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not.

Their is continuous pain in my eye when I work on laptop? What should I do to overcome this problem?
You have something called as computer vision syndrome. So take frequent breaks while you are working every 20-25 mins take break to look away from screen blink more frequently' level of screen should be below the level of eyes ac should not blow directly on your face. Also get your eyes checked for any spectacle power.

I have red eyes over 8 days. What should I do for perfect treatment of my good eyes.
Eye redness is most often due to swollen or dilated blood vessels. This makes the surface of the eye look red .There are many causes of a red eye or eyes like infection, allergy. foreign body in eyes. Some are medical emergencies and some are a cause for concern, but not an emergency. Others are nothing to worry about.Consult ur local eye specilist to see what is the cause

Hello lybrate-user. There are multiple causes responsible for diminution/ blurring of vision. Let me enumerate them in brief for you: (1) refractive error. This is one of the commonest reasons responsible. Minus or plus number in one eye or both eyes may be responsible for weak/ blurred vision. The solution for this is glasses/ contact lens/ refractive surgery (if applicable). It should be checked by a trained optometrist/ ophthalmologist and proper glasses should be prescribed. (2) cornea related problem: injury, degeneration, infections or inflammation occurring on the cornea tend to causes loss of transparency and lead to weakening of vision. These should be assessed preferably by a cornea specialist and treated appropriately. (3) cataract in the lens of the eye: this usually occurs with increasing age but in some cases may occur at a younger age. There are multiple systemic factors responsible (eg. Diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, etc) injury to the eye may also cause cataract. This should be assessed and treated appropriately by a cataract specialist. (4) retina/ vitreous problems: these occur due to a variety of reasons such as high minus numbers, diabetes, trauma, etc. These issues are best assessed and treated by a retina specialist. There are good quality surgical options available for the same. (5) optic nerve related problems: these may occur due to raised eye pressure (glaucoma), or occur in association with certain conditions related to the brain and the blood vessels. These are best assessed by a retina/ glaucoma specialist (whichever applicable). (6) neurological problems: certain problems in the brain and the central nervous system tend to cause weakening/ blurring of vision. These are best assessed by an eye specialist in concordance with a neurologist and a neurosurgeon if required. Thus, based on the category you fall under, it would be necessary to take appropriate help and treatment. Hope my suggestions helped you. Let me know if you require further assistance. Take care. Regards.

Dear sir I am not able to see properly with my eyes so please give me a proper solution of the my problem.
Hello lybrate-user. Weak eyesight has multiple factors associated with it. To enumerate a few: (1) refractive error- change of the power of glasses is the commonest cause of weak eyesight. In fact, if you have not used glasses previously, it might be possible that you might need to use them now. (2) age related changes in the lens of the eye-this is generally known as cataract. This is present in varying proportions in a majority of population above 55 years. This means that some degree of cataract is usually found in the age group over 55 years. (3) retina problem-different degenerations of the retina usually lead to weakening of the eyesight. The degeneration may be caused due to progressive age. It may also occur due to a high minus number of the eye (myopia). (4) cornea related problem- cornea is the anterior (front) part of the eye. Certain issues with the cornea may cause weakening of the eyesight. (5) optic nerve related problem-the optic nerve is responsible for carrying the signals from the eye to the brain. Conditions affecting the optic nerve at any part along its entire course may cause reduction of the vision. Thus, it would be a good idea to consult an eye specialist in person and get your eyes evaluated for the cause of weakening eyesight. Hope my suggestions help.

I have my son Who is 6 years old. He can see with only one eye other eye's eye ball is whitish in color and its blind. Hello lybrate-user. I am genuinely sorry about your son's problem. Coming to your query, genetic disorders of the eyes and the body are more common in consanguineous marriages (marriage within the family members). Disorders of the eyes such as retinitis pigmentosa, heredomacular degeneration, color blindness tend to occur more commonly. Developmental disorders arise more frequently. Regarding the white eye, it could be due to a variety of causes such as congenital cataract, tumor in the eye, cornea problem of the eye, etc. I am sure you must have had it valuated by an eye specialist when your son was younger. Unfortunately, if the eye has been white and blind for more than 3-4 years, the chances of it being subject to treatment and recovering vision are less. In case the whiteness of the eye has appeared recently and the vision has dropped recently, you should get it promptly evaluated by your eye specialist. The reason being that certain caused for childhood blindness are curable and there is good scope for vision recovery. Another thing that I wanted to mention is regarding family planning. In case you are planning another child, you should be aware of the fact that there are chances of similar/ different eye disorders or systemic issues in the second child as well. In this regard, you might want to consider adoption. There are a few genetic tests available that can be performed during pregnancy that help to detect/ predict any problems that might arise in the child after birth. These tests are not 100 percent predictive. Also the fact that they are associated with a few risks. Thus, according to me, a good idea would be to consider adoption.

I am having squint in my left eye, Is it possible to correct it through a laser surgery/other?
Hello lybrate-user. Squint of the eye has multiple causes associated with it. Let me enumerate them in brief: (1) significant difference in the refractive error (glasses power) between both eyes. (2) injury to the eye. (3) cataract/ opacity of the lens in one eye (in pediatric age group specifically). (4) eye having undergone surgery would have the possibility of getting deviated with time. (5) long standing retinal problem in an eye. (6) amblyopia/ lazy eye. It would be possible to correct squint with surgery. This would not be a laser surgery. Also, you must understand the fact that there is a chance that the squint would recur after surgical correction. The duration between the surgery and recurrence could be variable.

Get your refraction done and wear spectacles Eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularily if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These are few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which can increase your eyesight.

Eye strain, or asthenopia, is when the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches Eye strain may lead to other problems, such as: • Headaches • Difficulty Concentrating • Irritability • Burning Sensation • Watery Eyes • Dry Eyes • Photophobia • Eye Pain The first thing you can do is change your environment and work habits. By doing this you can relieve the pain without spending money on treatment. If you work on the computer, try taking more eye breaks by looking down the hall or out the window, or by closing your eyes for thirty seconds. You should get your eyes checked at least once a year, especially as you grow older. Routine eye exams give you the opportunity to discuss with your Eye Specialist any issues you may be having, and they may enable you to catch any problems in their early stages. If you work on a computer, taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration.Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) 3 times daily.

Hi. Myopia generally stops increasing by the age of 20-21. If you have to work on computer for longer time at a stretch, take 2 minutes break every 30-40 minutes to relax your eyes. You may also use under corrected glasses for reading or working on computer. Wearing rgp contact lenses too helps in controlling progressive myopia.
