You'need fat to increase your body weight, but not all fats are the same. Saturated and trans fats will help you gain weight, but they'll also increase your cholesterol and your risk of heart disease. Unsaturated fats, however, help reduce your risk of heart disease and boost your immune system. Make sure every meal you have includes some fat. When gaining weight, you'll want to focus on these" good fats" to help beef up your body fat while still getting necessary nutrients that your body needs. Nuts, peanut butter, fatty fish like salmon and mackerel, and avocados are all high in unsaturated fats and calories and will still provide you with essential nutrients. Include these in your meals or snack on them throughout the day.

Hi, I use to smoke and drink regularly until few days back I participated in a marathon for 3 km. But I couldn't run for 500 meter properly and was so drained and breathing heavily with no power to move even. Kindly suggest why and how to over come this.

Hi lybrate-user, your body has become weak due to smoking and alcohol. De-addiction - Ayurveda Way De-addiction treatments in Ayurveda comprise the following: 1. Purification therapies or Panchkarma: These are used for getting rid of all toxins present in the patient’s body. These must always be done under the supervision of an ayurvedacharya as they are quite potent. After Panchakarma, the patient is given vomiting therapy or Vamana, followed by purgative therapy or Virechana, Basti or enema therapy and administration of Nasya or nasal drops therapy. All these help in detoxifying the body and mind and prepare the patient for further de-addiction ayurvedic treatments like Rasayana therapies which nourish and strengthen the body after Panchkarma. For treatment of addictions, Rasayana treatments include changes in diet and use of oral herbal medicines both. 2. Herbal medicines used in de-addiction: A range of herbal medicines and their combinations are used in the treatment of addictive problems in Ayurveda and these are to be consumed orally. Ayurveda prescribes Chamomile and Ashwagandha in combination to heal the lungs. These help in cleansing lungs of smoke- related problems. Doctors also prescribe congestion relieving herbs like ginger and pepper mixed with honey or lemon. In addition, herbs to improve memory, concentration and to fight depression are also given. These are: / Shankhpushpi / Kanphool or dandelion / Brahmi / Ashwagandha Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Do not think so deep about phytates. If you are taking a normal healthy balanced diet there is no deficiency of zinc or iron in the body because of phytates in the whole grain. So do not be so much concern abt phytate contents in your food. Normal cooking of food reduces phytate level in food. Sprouting of grains also reduces phytate amt in diet take vit c rich food like - citrus fruits - lemon, orange, to balance phytate try for 15 days and give feed back for more advise.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. Inform after 10 days for further guidance.

I sleep a lot. 12 hours straight. I am not able to get up from bed even if I am awake, I just feel like sleeping more. I have lost my will power to study which is troubling me a lot. For increasing your weight Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.

Hello , start drinking water in a empty stomach. Also add fiber supplement which will keep your stomach very clean. Apart from this you can use regular diet. My best suggestion is add omega-3 fatty acid to your diet.

For fit and healthy body do exercise like muscle building exercise like push up,weight lifting,and other muscle building exercise..Eat extra amount of food.Do not skip meals.Use nutritional supplement.Use whole cream milk.Add ghee,butter etc with foods.Eat protein more for gaining weight.Add extra healthy fat in cooking.Avoid smoking,alcohol.No water just before or during meals.These will help you but for quick result you need professional assistance.So you consult me privately on lybrate if you want.
