I am a 27-year-old female. I am over weight. And few days ago I was diagnosed with a cyst in my right ovary. I am getting married next soon and me and my husband do not have plans to have a child within next 5 years. When I consulted a doctor he prescribed me NOVELON and asked me to continue as oral contraceptive after marriage. I trust my doctor's opinion, but just to be sure, is it safe for overweight women? You need to do an elimination diet for at least a month. Reintroduce 1 food type one by one for 1 week and see how does it suit your body. This way you will get a clear picture of what foods suits or do not suit your body. This method can cure your acidity. Once cured you can start with a weight gain diet.

Just for your information here’s what WebMD has to say: ‘No matter how it gets into your system, it affects almost every organ in your body, and your nervous system and immune system, too. When you smoke pot, your body absorbs THC right away. (If you eat baked goods or another item, it may take much longer for your body to absorb THC, because it has to break down in your stomach before it enters your bloodstream). You may notice changes in your body right after you smoke. The effects usually stop after 3 or 4 hours. Smoking pot can increase your heart rate by as much as two times for up to 3 hours. That’s why some people have a heart attack right after they use marijuana. It can increase bleeding, lower blood pressure, and affect your blood sugar, too. We don’t yet know if marijuana is linked to higher odds of getting lung cancer. But the process does irritate your lungs -- which is why regular pot smokers are more likely to have an ongoing cough and to have lung-related health problems like chest colds and lung infections. Other physical effects of marijuana include: • Dizziness • Shallow breathing • Red eyes and dilated pupils • Dry mouth • Increased appetite • Slowed reaction time (If you drive after using marijuana, your risk of being in a car accident more than doubles.) If you’re a long-time user, you can have physical withdrawal symptoms -- like cravings, irritability, sleeplessness, and less appetite -- when you stop.’ It being a hallucinogen, it can lead to hallucinations and even a phenomenon called ‘cross hallucinations’ i.e. for example, you can see sounds and hear colors!!! If you are finding it very difficult to give it up on your own then admit yourself in a rehabilitation center and go through the 12 steps to recovery. After that attend NA meetings and keep yourself clean forever. You will need to alter your lifestyle, change your friends, your haunts, your habits, etc. You must learn to have fun in clean ways. You must exercise regularly, eat well and sleep well. Emotionally you must be able to handle your feelings by expressing them appropriately. A counselor will teach you about emotions and how to handle them.

Keep to happy and healthy life is exercising, have a good and nutritious diet, stay relaxed and positive. In summers take aam panna, watermelon juice, sugercane juice, mint and lemon juice.

Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take of your total as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilized for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. For more detailed and personal advice ask me privately.

How Spinach Is a Superfood for Your Body

While we all believe that green leafy vegetables are to be included as part of our regime, not all of us know in detail the amount of goodness that is packed in these. The first thing that comes to mind at the thought of leafy green vegetable is the tender, green, luscious looking spinach.  However, not all of us know the amount of goodness and nutrition it stores within in.  Spinach, though appears to be delicate and light, puts up a strong fight against inflammatory problems, stress-related problems, cardiovascular issues, bone diseases, and various types of cancers.

  1. Minerals and vitamins: Fresh green spinach is loaded with a multitude of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C and K. Major minerals contained in spinach include manganese, iron, magnesium, copper, potassium, phosphorus, and selenium.
  2. Anti-cancer benefits: The antioxidant properties in spinach come from carotenoids and flavonoids, and it is loaded with about a dozen flavonoid compounds, thereby getting a strong anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties.  Spinach helps in reducing inflammation in the stomach lining and other areas, thereby reducing chances of intestinal cancer.  It also provides significant protection against prostate cancer.  The incidence of skin papilloma is also reduced with increased consumption of spinach.
  3. Anti-inflammatory benefits: The good amounts of vitamin C, E, A, zinc, manganese, selenium are beneficial for reducing stress and thereby reduce incidence of heart attacks and high blood pressure.  Spinach also is rich in protein and contains some peptides (small protein units) which inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, which is responsible for increasing blood pressure. This is another way how spinach helps lower blood pressure.
  4. Eyes: Lutein and zeaxanthin are two carotenoids, which protects the eyes against cataracts and macular degeneration. 
  5. Bones: The bacteria in the stomach convert vitamin K1 in spinach to vitamin K2. While vitamin K1 supports the bones by reducing the number of osteoclasts (cells that break down bones), vitamin K2 activates osteocalcin, which promotes bone formation. The high levels of calcium and magnesium only make it even better for the bones.
  6. Digestive system: With the good fiber content it has, there is reduced instance of constipation. The anti-inflammatory property helps keep the stomach lining healthy and less prone to ulcers.  It also helps flush out toxins and keeps the body alkaline, which helps beat stress.
  7. Skin: The various minerals and vitamins in spinach reduces chances of skin infections and also adds to the glow of the skin.  The itchiness and dryness of the skin also is reduced with regular use of spinach.

So the next time you are thinking, which is one thing you should pick up when you go to the market, think spinach.

You should focus on increasing the muscles.68 kgs for your height is too less. When you build muscle, you will also look broader and this may help you look a little smaller

You can either try Yogasanas or Exercise at least for 1 hour a day.. Eat less junk food, and more protein rich food. Salads and fruits... Take 8 hour sleep without night watching. etc.. For better treatment you may need to consult..

Your BMI is 22.15 that means you have perfect weight for your height. Why do you want to add more weight. That will lead to getting a tummy and after few days you will be asking question on'how to reduce weight' If you are trying to build muscles then do it through exercise. Food will not give you muscles. I will suggest - do regular Exercise. Eat healthy food. Be confident of yourself the way you are. And Be Happy.

Mr. Lybrate-user, you can drink water minimum 1/2 hr after food (before the food also. Same) which then will help for better digestion. Drinkobg immediately after food dilutes the gastric juices. So not good. Water could b either normal r luke, but not cold.
