I am 9 months pregnant I have back pain and lower abdomen pain at night time. Is that normal?
Lower abdomen dull ache and back pain may be normal unless you don't have other signs of labour like uterine contractions and watery discharge from vagina. Keep a watch on your baby movements. Labour can start after 37 weeks anytime so please be careful.

You are late in consulting me. If you r really desperate to increase yr height I can recommend you some very good homoeopathic medicines for 3 months. If in this time your height increases by even half of an inch, I will immediately start some aggressive nd very effective homoeopathic treatment after 3 months of this initial treatment. Let me know the height of yr parents nd when was the last time you noticed an increase in your height for breast enlargemt sabal serr q (dr reckeweg) drink 10 drops in 10 ml fresh water 3 times a day v-shape cream (bakson) massage twice daily for 5 minutes.

Hello, you need to get evaluated for PCOD, hypothyroidism or hyperprolactinemia which are common causes for delayed and irregular menses. Pcod has to be controlled first before you can think about a baby. Please follow up with your hormonal profile and ultrasound pelvis reports.

Simple Tips to be Active

Simple Tips to be Active

Take an after-dinner walk
Walk during your breaks and at lunch
If possible, schedule a" walking" work meeting
Park in the farthest spot from the grocery store or mall (it is easier parking as well).
Avoid valet parking (saves money too)
Take the stairs instead of elevators or escalators
Walk while your kids practice or warm-up at their sporting events instead of sitting in your comfy chair (this one I know from experience).
Walk to drop off/pickup kids from school.
Take public transportation; walk around the terminal when waiting for the train/bus/light rail.
Walk the dog. Have you heard our pets are getting fatter too?
Avoid the drive-thru. If you must eat at a fast-food establishment, park at the farthest spot and walk in. And, of course, choose a healthier food option!
Walk to visit friends or neighbors.
Like to golf? walk instead of renting the cart.
Read/watch tv on a treadmill (or stationary bike).

What if a baby is in fallopian tube, do a women will be in trouble if she carries that.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
What if a baby is in fallopian tube, do a women will be in trouble if she carries that.
Baby needs space to grow and in tubal pregnancy, it cannot grow beyond 6-8 weeks, tube gets ruptured and it is an emergency to operate. If ultrasound confirms tubal pregnancy in an otherwise normal pregnant woman, there is no need to operate, there is medical treatment available, dead tissue gets washed off and tubes are spared for future pregnancies.

I get pains in period but morning time when I awake then come period, why, causes in pain? Please advice me.
If it is central abdomen pain just above the public bone, lasting few hours only on the first day, then it mat be quite normal. It is due to spasm of uterus muscle as it begins to expel. Use hot water bag, avoid spiced foods, non-veg, oily foods and if required an antispasmodic tablet can be useful. Any pain which is more than described above will need a visit to the doctor.

We had unprotected intercourse this morning ,where in her periods stopped two days ago. In this intercourse I have not put my penis inside the vagina but I was trying to masturbate over her vagina and the sperms came out over her vagina. She went inside and cleaned it off immediately and took a ipil. Will it help? And what should be done now to avoid pregnancy? If there is a risk.

Hi since you r retaining milk may be in the left breast you need to take out your milk first second take care of your self and if fever increases or pain increases then you need to show it to a surgeon near by there is a possibility that you will develop abscess that means pus .it happens with mothers those who breast feed. So do not worry for pain you can have tab paracetamol 650 mg twice a day .for fever also the same. Take care.

My wife is 56 has no known history, but feels low and light headed most of the time. Please suggest .

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
It happens in postmenopausal women (after cessation of menses) or even around that time. Ask her to eat more soya rich food which contains natural estrogen along with calcium. Her symptoms will go in 2-3 months time. If this does not work it will need to be treated with medications like estrogen or Tibolone.

There is excess fat deposited during pregnancy in the tummy. If you continue exclusive breastfeeding to your baby, it will burn that fat very fast. Also muscles of the tummy gets lax because of the growing fetus. To increase the tone of these abdominal muscles, you need to start brisk walk or jogging daily for 4-5 km and increase your protein intake. This will burn fat very fast reduce the size of your tummy. Also one can do exercises like sit-ups.

Menstrual cycle can be disturbed if you have an imbalance of the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. It's not unusual to have a hormone imbalance for a few years after puberty and before the menopause. This can cause your menstrual cycle to become longer or shorter. Your periods may also become lighter or heavier. Lifestyle The following lifestyle factors can also upset your balance of hormones and cause irregular bleeding: • extreme weight loss or weight gain • excessive exercise • stress Polycystic ovary syndrome Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) occurs when very small cysts (small, fluid-filled sacs) develop in the ovaries. The usual symptoms of PCOS are irregular or light periods or no periods at all. This is because, in women with PCOS, ovulation (the release of an egg) may not take place as often as normal. The production of hormones may also be unbalanced, and you could have higher levels of testosterone than normal. Testosterone is a male hormone that women usually have a small amount of. Thyroid disorders A thyroid disorder is another possible, but rare, cause of irregular periods. The thyroid gland, found in the neck, produces hormones that maintain the body's metabolism (the chemical processes your body uses to turn food into energy). Your Doctor may test for a thyroid problem by taking a blood test to check levels of thyroid hormones in your blood. Anaemia Iron deficiency due to improper diet intake can sometimes lead to irregular periods. So a thorough phyical examination is required regarding the weight History,Menstrual history,Dietary habits and any life style change that took place in her life.Only then we can reach to a diagnosis and can start a treatment for that particular problem

HSG has to be done to know the patency of left fallopian tube. If tube is patent iui or natural way does not make difference. Success rate is same. If both tube blocked ivf is the solution not iui.

What diet should be taken when it's the 1st month of pregnancy.. Please suggest the Do's & Don't.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS

What diet should be taken when it's the 1st month of pregnancy.. Please suggest the Do's & Don't.
It is not necessary to take costly nutritious diets in the beginning. Normal home cooked food, what we eat everyday is adequate. Go not skip meals or go on fast. Instead you can break up the 3 square meals into 6 smaller meals. Milk and eggs are very nutritious. All dals are good, specially if you mix them up. Curds, paneer, porridge, kheer all can provide enough energy. Water should be treated well, if possible by ro machine.
