You need to learn the" relaxation response" in times of stress and anxiety. This can be learnt in a step wise process only and with practice you can excel. Start with doing relaxation exercises like yoga and meditation. Also try breathing exercises for 15-20 minutes daily. Once you learn how to relax you will have to learn when to relax too. If you still find things difficult you might need help with some counselling and medications.

Conversion Disorder - Causes And Symptoms

Conversion Disorder - Causes And Symptoms

Conversion disorder is a psychological disorder in which psychological conflicts get converted into physical symptoms.

The disease is also referred to as a functional neurological symptom disorder. In most cases, this disorder has an impact on your ability to move, your senses, vision, hearing capacity and ability to swallow.

Causative factors

The main cause behind the onset of a conversion disorder is generally a sudden traumatic event (real or imagined). This may also happen due to an emotional conflict or any other mental health disorder, which directly or indirectly affects your brain in an undesirable manner.

Though the exact factors which cause the disease are still unknown, it has been proved by medical researchers that the disorder affects that part of the brain which controls the majority of the senses, muscles, and nerves.

Identification signs

The symptoms of this condition may usually appear immediately after a traumatic event, be it physical or psychological. Some of the most common symptoms of this disorder are listed below.

  • Weakness or paralysis of a body part
  • Loss of body balance
  • Moments of unresponsiveness
  • Abnormal, sudden and abrupt body movements such as tremors
  • Swallowing problems such as lump in the throat

Some of the symptoms of this disorder might also affect the sensory organs, which include:

  • Abnormal numbness of the body
  • Speech related problems or inability to speak (psychological mutism)
  • Vision related problems such as psychological blindness
  • Hearing problems and difficulties

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychologist.

You are having claustrophobic. A condition where you become uncomfortable in crowded place. There is close relationship between mind and gut. You should practice desensitization exercises. Here you should expose you to a few people, then to a group of known and to unknown people. Once you are OK with it you should start social exposure gradually. Relaxation exercise will help you.

Hello my name is varun from many months I am suffering from gay thoughts. Although but I am straight but this thought...
Hi, you need to take psychotherapy/counseling to recognize your fears. They may be merely thoughts but provoking anxiety in you. You need to learn to manage that. Engage in some exercise daily for 30 minutes and practice mindfulness exercise. Mindful Breathing The primary goal of mindful breathing is simply a calm, nonjudging awareness, allowing thoughts and feelings to come and go without getting caught up in them. Sit comfortably, with your eyes closed and your spine reasonably straight. Bring your attention to your breathing. Imagine that you have a balloon in your tummy. Every time you breathe in, the balloon inflates. Each time you breathe out, the balloon deflates. Notice the sensations in your abdomen as the balloon inflates and deflates. Your abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the out-breath. Thoughts will come into your mind, and that’s okay, because that’s just what the human mind does. Simply notice those thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing. Likewise, you can notice sounds, physical feelings, and emotions, and again, just bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to follow those thoughts or feelings, don’t judge yourself for having them, or analyse them in any way. It’s okay for the thoughts to be there. Just notice those thoughts, and let them drift on by, bringing your attention back to your breathing. Whenever you notice that your attention has drifted off and is becoming caught up in thoughts or feelings, simply note that the attention has drifted, and then gently bring the attention back to your breathing. It's okay and natural for thoughts to enter into your awareness, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing. Get back to me for proper therapy. All the best.

Suggesting you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. Start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2. Take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3. Triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4. Amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating. When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss.

Sir.M a student . M 22 years old girl. I dnt knw how to start. Bt i m under depression from past 1-2 years. It a started when i went into a serious relationship with a guy. I always expected a lot of things frm him.Bt in return i have always suffered.Exactly i dnt knw hw to express what i feels. But smtimes i feel like hurting myself. My heart beats very fastly n i start hitting my legs hands everything on a wall. I dnt knw. I behave like a mental patient. M nt able to overcome this. This happens only when it comes to my relationship.I have tried to break it.Bt m nt able to tolerate that. Plz give me a an appropriate answer.Plz

You may not be depressed per se but you certainly are hurting very badly because of this guy you love. I think that your expectations of this fellow may be too much for him, or it may not be normal. You also may be trying too hard to make him into something that you want. You cannot do this to people you love. You must give them the freedom to be what they are and to love the person for what he is. If you try to change him, then you will start controlling. Now nobody likes that. In fact, if he did that to you, you also will feel stifled and sooner than later you will want to dump him. You have heard it said, ?If you love someone, let them go and if it is meant for you, he will return. Do you have that kind of faith? I don?t think so. This could be entirely your problem. I would imagine that even if this boy wants to change to please you, he may be getting so angry that he will willfully not do what you want him to do. So then that will make you angry too. Now, how can such a relationship work out? Also think, if he knows that you behave in this manner, will he want to spend the rest of his life with you? You may be quite insecure and afraid to want to control another person like this. This is not love. Talk to a counselor and learn to deal with your insecurities to be a better girlfriend. Never hurt yourself any more. Remember that you must love giving the other person his space, and you will have a better relationship. If you cannot do that, then you need help. I am not suggesting that the boy is good or bad. I am telling you these things because you have told me what you are going through. I don't know him well enough to judge him anyway.

Hi, dark circles might persist due to hereditary also. If any of your parents have it then you are bound to get them. Drink lots of water as dehydration also causes dark circles. If you have tried everything to get rid of them then start using concealer to hide them if you are getting frustrated. Otherwise accept them and put your energy in some positive activities.

I am 20 years old male. I am suffering from attention deficit since my childhood. Most of the time I live in dreams. Since my childhood I never listened lectures. I feel like boredom after listening for 10 minutes and I will go to dreams. You believe it or not my city is very small one, I am living in this since my childhood but I don't remember routes of this city. I don't know the exact locations of the places. I always search for them. I can't observe the things that are happening around me because I am always in dreams. I always forget the names of persons and places. I always try to think for 5-10 sec of finding a name while I am in a conversations. I always can't take decisions in my life. I will always over estimate or under estimate the situation.(for example if I want to study a subject I will over estimate that I can read the whole book of 500 pages in 10 hrs. Then I starts reading, after reading 5 pages I gets depressed and stops reading. This is happening since my childhood.) I am also very poor in my communication skills. I also have very few friends. I feel like I am wasting time while talking to strangers. I never fight or scold anybody in my life not because I am good but because I think that they will feel if I scold them. I am going to dreams while writing this question too. This is bothering me a lot. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

You must immediately go for counseling and meet with a doctor too for some medication. You will need to monitor yourself and get into maintaining a dairy of activities completed and those to be completed. It will be useful to either report to a family member or to a therapist to keep tabs on your progress. Right now there is no cure but a combination of counseling and medication will help. You have reached this age already rather successfully and with more definite direction, much more can be achieved. Exercise of the vigorous kind will be useful, and a regular schedule of activities every day will help you complete jobs. To stay out of daydreaming you must be constantly engaged with constructive activities and with people of common interests.
