Dear lybrate-user, to stay fit during summers you have to avoid direct exposure to sunlight especially during noon hours. Try to work & stay in a cool & airy place. Take lot of water at least 2-3 litres if you are sweating a lot, also take fluids like fruit juices & sherbats. Eat light food, more of fruits & vegetables, avoid spicy &fried food. Do mild exercise early morning & sleep adequately at night.

Regarding Testicle Problem : Sir, My right testicle was down from the normal position than the exact position and the left position was normal (I heard it has hernia). I Never think of that and from PAST 7 YEARS (FROM MID 2009) I AM BEARING THIS PROBLEM. But recently by reading some posts in Lybrate I came to know testosterone will stimulates body actions like memory and plays vital role in all key mechanism of the body. So, sir if this is true am I facing lack of testosterone level for my memory issues and thinking disability. What I just thought was possible liquid was coming out at some intervals. I have straight forward views with ethical values regarding sex only after marriage. But now I am deeply concerned about this issue, I am an introvert and didn't discuss with anyone. Madam, pregnancy related problems, like many others, can not be solved without seeing the patient. Usually doxylamine-pyridoxine (10 mg /10 mg) combination in the morning in empty stomach with little water helps. Then start your day with some dry food like a piece of dry bread. Repeat the tab if you require but restrict it within 2 tabs / day. Take folic acid / folvite 5 mg - 1 daily after bf, shelcal 500 - 1 tab just before breakfast. Iron+bcomplex - 1 cap after dinner daily. Hope these shall reduce your vomiting. It should go within 10/15 more days. But remember you must consult your obstetrician as soon as possible. I have written only supplements what is required in normal pregnancy.

Dear User, You have identified your problems already. Smoking and other stuff causes damage to health. You must be aware of that. Having anxiety and panic attack could also be because of tobacco. That needs further evaluation. For healthy life, You need to leave the bad habits, and get treatment from a psychiatrist for anxiety and panic disorder.

Dear lybrate-user, Do not worry, its a very common problem encountered by many during winters. You need to do as I say & you will start feeling better- 1) Practice Steam inhalation 1-2 times a day. 2) Wear socks & gloves as precautionary measures. 3) Avoid late night shifts & take adequate 8 hr sleep. 4)Luke Warm saline water (Halka garm namak-paani) gargles once daily. 5) Herbal tea in evening (with Tulsi leaves) 6) For acute nasal congestion (Naak poora band ho jaana) you need some nasal drops/sprays & antiallergic medicines. I am 64 year old male having burning sensation in both the feet. I am in the border line of diabetic. I was advised by the doctor to control diet rather than taking any medicine. What is the cause and solution ?

It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. It is a good thing that you want to get rid of smoking but it is not easy because there is a lot of conditioning associated with it and these can be spread over the whole day and night!!! When you decide, it must be done immediately and abruptly. Waiting another day will jeopardize the decision. Since you want to do it I recommend that you seek the help of a counselor and do it with support, if the addiction is too much. You need to identify with why you smoke: there is an oral need, the nicotine effect, the psychological effect of covering up some other issue, for style, to impress, etc. You may discover that the reasons may be unimportant at this stage because you have become too addicted and the habit has become compulsive. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need, for a little while. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all, announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. To help process all of the above and to get support, go for counseling and persevere with it until you are completely over it. Regarding addiction to sex, you need to be more specific. Any way it is bound to have the obsession about sex a lot of the day and that will feed into the compulsion to act on it. If it is masturbation that you are addicted to it has some other ramifications and will affect your love life later. If it is addiction to sexual contact with women, then that has to be taken into consideration especially when you will need to withdraw from female company until you have resolve the issue. You will need to meet a sexologist and a counselor to work on the drive and the emotions attached to the addiction. You need to start regular exercise, eat well and sleep well. There is a need to be fruitfully occupied and when in social situations to keep your mind occupied on matters other than sex. You will need to get a sex education to understand and value and respect sex with the total five dimensions that it has: the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and even spiritual aspects. In the counseling you will need to understand women and not make them into sex objects. Yes worm infestation is a common problem in children. I would suggest the following: 1. Repeat deworming dose every 2-3 weeks for 4-6 courses 2. Personal hygiene measures eg. Daily bathing, clean & soft towel, clean & loose clothes, clean socks (even if shoes are not worn), clean toys as the child has a tendency to put toys in the mouth, brushing of teeth, hand washing / sanitizer use & so on 3. Good nutritious food 4. In view of the itching, massage of the skin in general & area around the anus in particular, with oil / cream of your choice will be helpful 5. Periodic check by your paediatrician for this as well as immunizations and preventive & promotive health is a good idea.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. Taking cetrizine tablets is not d treatment. Its just a palliative. By which symptoms subsides for a while. I think you should take proper treatment.

Such a thing should never be done. Do inform her family so that they can keep a watch. Even repeated use of crocin is not advisable. You can understand what an over dose can do.

In the present day and age, everyone’s always in a hurry. This has increased the tendency of multitasking in most people, whether it’s at their workplace, at home or while eating.
Studies have indicated that completing a single task at a time scores over multitasking and the latter even has some scary after-effects. It’s been proven that multitasking can have a huge negative influence on your brain as well as your career. Read on to find out the three ways in which multitasking is actually doing you more harm than good.

1. Your IQ level is lowered due to multitasking

Studies have revealed that multitasking can slow down your responses and even lower your IQ. A study conducted by the University of London observed a group of adults who were regularly asked to multitask. The results showed a considerable decline in the IQ level of the participants and the effects of multitasking were equated with those experienced after smoking marijuana or remaining awake all night. It was also observed that the IQ drop among some of the men resulted in them achieving IQ scores that match that of an 8-year-old child.

2. Multitasking can harm your brain

A research conducted by the University of Sussex, UK, proved that multitasking can lower your brain density in the anterior cingulate cortex (the area responsible for your emotional and cognitive control). This study analysed the MRI scans of the brains of the participants while they were multitasking (like working with multiple electronic devices). In conclusion, the researchers found out that the processes going on in the human body while interacting with multiple devices at once affect the brain’s natural structure negatively, thus hampering your ability to make wise decisions.

3. Multitasking worsens your performance at work

Studies reveal that multitasking exposes your brain to multiple streams of electronic information at once, which drastically interferes with your capacities of paying attention and remembering details.
Organizing thoughts in a proper manner also becomes difficult for people who multitask. They often fail to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant data, and show slow responses when asked to switch from one task to another. Your brain has been designed to handle and focus on only one task as a time, so if you multitask it cannot perform the multiple tasks with the same efficiency and speed. As a result, the quality of work reduces and your productivity decreases to a large extent if this continues for a long time. Moreover, multitasking can have a negative impact on your overall performance at your workplace, which can adversely impact your career in the long run.

Dear Sir, I met with an bike accident and broke my left hand (near wrist) and got treatment (Titanium implant fixed) at Ganga Hospital Coimbatore (It happens 4 months ago).
