Hi, you must be feeling uninterested in daily routine, also frustrated about the fact that something is not alright! you have mentioned that you are under depression for past two days and are on medications since but not seeing any change. Well, you will have to give sometime for the medicine show some effect. So be patient and meanwhile you can do other activities to feel better like spend some time with close friends, go for movie, watch comedy serials, pursue some hobby, go for walk, do exercise, eat balanced food, listen to music, keep yourself engaged in some activity. Have fixed timings for meals and sleep. Sleep n wake up at same time irrespective of whether you get sleep or not. It's also important to look for the reasons for your depression. I hope your doctor has referred you to a counsellor to unburden yourself off your pain and issues. If you aren't seeing any counselor then do so asap. Take care.

COUGH, COLD AND RUNNY NOSE IN CHILDREN

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Gurgaon
COUGH, COLD AND RUNNY NOSE IN CHILDREN

What causes cough, runny nose, and other symptoms of the common cold? — These symptoms are usually caused by a viral infection. Lots of viruses can take hold inside your nose, mouth, throat, or lungs, and cause cold symptoms. Most adults get over a cold without lasting problems but having a cold can be uncomfortable especially for kids.

What are the symptoms of the common cold? — The symptoms include:

Sneezing

Coughing

●Sniffling and runny nose

Sore throat

●Chest congestion

In children, the common cold can also cause a fever.

How can I tell if my child has a cold or the flu? — The common cold and the flu both cause many of the same symptoms. But they also have some important differences. This table can help you tell the difference between a cold and the flu (table below).

SYMPTOMS COLD FEVER
Fever Rare Usual;high (100-102 deg F), lasts 3-4 days
Headache Rare Common
General aches and pains Slight Usual, often severe
Fatigue, weakness Sometimes Usual, can last upto 2-3 weeks
Extreme exhaustion Never Usual, at the beginning of illness
Stuffy nose Common Sometimes
Sneezing Usual Sometimes
Sore throat Common Sometimes
Chest discomfort, cough Mild to moderate, Hacking cough Common; can become severe

When should I call the doctor? — Most people who have a cold do not need to see the doctor

Call your child's doctor if he or she:

● A fever of more than 100.4º F (38º C) that comes with shaking chills, loss of appetite, or trouble breathing.

     ● Refuses to drink anything for a long time

●Is younger than 4 months

●Has a fever and is not acting like him- or herself

●Has a cough that lasts for more than 2 weeks and is not getting any better

●Has a stuffed or runny nose that gets worse or does not get better after 2 weeks

●Has red eyes or yellow goop coming out of his or her eyes

●Has ear pain, pulls at his or her ears, or shows other signs of having an ear infection

Take your child to the emergency room if he or she:

●Becomes confused or stops responding to you

●Has trouble breathing or has to work hard to breathe

What should I know if my child has a cold? — In children, the common cold is often more severe than it is in adults and also lasts longer. Usually it lasts 3 to 7 days, but some children may have symptoms for up to 10 days. In addition, children often get a fever during the first 3 days of a cold.

Are cough and cold medicines safe for children? — If your child is younger than 6, you should not give him or her any cold medicines. These medicines are not safe for young children. Never give aspirin to any child younger than 18 years old. In children, aspirin can cause a life-threatening condition called Reye syndrome. When giving your child acetaminophen or other nonprescription medicines, never give more than the recommended dose. However you may try some home remedies like honey admixed with ginger and older children may beneffit from steam inhaltion and warm saline gargles

Can the common cold lead to more serious problems? — In some cases, yes. In some people having a cold can lead to:

Pneumonia or bronchitis (infections of the lungs)

●Ear infections

●Worsening of asthma symptoms

●Sinus infections

How can I keep from getting another cold? —The most important thing you can do is to wash your hands often with soap and water. Alcohol hand rubs work well, too. The germs that cause the common cold can live on tables, door handles, and other surfaces for at least 2 hours. You never know when you might be touching germs. That's why it's so important to clean your hands often. You may also take steps towards improving your child's immunity like giving him a wholesome and nutritious diet comprising of all vegetables and fruits. Encourage physical activity/ exercise in your child. You may also provide him/her protection from seasonal flu by enruring regular vaccination for the same.

Please telling me for reason of dangu and malaria and suggestions me for this takecare me and my family.
Dengue Fever is Caused due to the bite of an infected female aedes aegypti mosquito, the disease can be fatal if Dengue Hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome developed Once bitten it takes about 3-10 days for the symptoms to appear. Malaria: A bite from a parasite-infected mosquito causes malaria. There are four species of malaria parasites that infect mosquitoes. Because the parasites that cause malaria affect red blood cells, people can also catch malaria from exposures to infected blood, including: From mother to unborn child Through blood transfusions By sharing needles used to inject drugs we can prevent Malaria by prevention mosquito bite A bite from a parasite-infected mosquito causes malaria. Reducing exposure to mosquitoes Spraying your home. Treating your home's walls with insecticide can help kill adult mosquitoes that come inside. Sleeping under a net. Covering your skin. During active mosquito times, usually from dusk to dawn, wear pants and long-sleeved shirts. You can use USG mosquito repellent available in market Following tips for Prevention of Dengue fever : 1. Turn over empty pails and buckets, so that they do not collect excess water. If the container that contains water cannot be emptied, remember to cover it well when not in use. 2: Remember to clean out empty flower pots and not to over water potted plants. It is advised to not have any stagnant water around as it acts as breeding ground for the mosquitoes. 3: Apply mosquito repellents on all exposed areas, during the day as well as at night on a regular basis to prevent dengue. 4: Make sure your window and door screens do not have any holes. If so, block those areas properly to eliminate mosquitoes. 5: If someone at home is ill with dengue, try to not let the mosquitoes bite them or others in the house. 6: sleep under a mosquito net (especially small children as they sleep during the day and hence, the chance of mosquito bite is high during this time). 7: If you use a cooler remember to empty out and clean the water tray regularly, even when not in use. 8: Always cover your dustbin when not in use. 9: A natural method to keep mosquitoes at bay is to plant Tulsi near your window. The plant has properties that do not allow mosquitoes to breed. 10: Using camphor as a repellent also works wonders. Light camphor in a room and close all the doors and windows. Leave it this way for about fifteen to twenty minutes to have a mosquito free environment

YOu have a lot of anxiety and need to test your eyes first and do these tips for study. 10 Study Tips to Improve Your Learning Study Tip 1: Underlining Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading. One key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there. You can only retain a certain amount so it’s best to retain the most important information. Study Tip 2: Make your own note and taking notes is one of the most widespread study skills out there. Essentially the aim of note-taking is to summarise lectures or articles in your own words so you can easily remember the ideas. Study Tip 3: Mind mapping A good Mind map can save you many hours of study and further consolidate your knowledge for your exams. Mind Maps are an extremely versatile tools. They can be used for brainstorming, outlining essays or study topics and for general exam preparation, ExamTime offers the ability to create Mind Maps quickly and easily which makes them the ideal tool when it comes to exams. Study Tip 4: Flash cards:- Using these are a particularly effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, dates, formulas or vocabulary. Subjects such as History, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Geography or any language are made much easier if you incorporate Flashcards in to your study. Study Tip 5: Case Studies Sometimes it can be difficult to grasp the implications of some theories. This is where studying case studies can be a big help. Case studies can help you visualise a theory and place it in a more familiar and realistic context. This is especially useful in business or law subjects. Study Tip 6: Quizzes are an excellent way to review study notes in the weeks and days before an exam. Quizzes can show where your strengths and weaknesses are, so it allows you to focus your efforts more precisely. Moreover, if you share your Study Quiz with your classmates and test each other as much as possible you can discover even more details and areas you may have overlooked. So before any exam, make sure you create and share a bunch of different Quizzes with your Friends. Study Tip 7: Brainstorming This is another study technique that is ideal for studying with friends and/or classmates. Brainstorming is a great way to expand every possible idea out of any topic. Just get a bunch of friends together and shoot the breeze, there are no wrong answers when brainstorming – just talk and capture the ideas, you can review afterward. Study Tip 8: Mnemonic Rules Mnemonics are especially useful when memorising lists and sets. Mnemonics rules basically work by associating certain concepts with other concepts that are more familiar to us. There are many different ways to make mnemonics and these can be individual to the person. Study Tip 9: ORGANISE your study One of the most effective study skills is also one of the most often overlooked; this is organising your study. Creating a TIME TABLE gives you goals and a time in which to achieve them. Having a study timetable as you study is greatly motivational Study Tip 10: Drawing Many people find it easier to recall images rather than text that is why they are better able to memorise concepts if they associate them with pictures or drawings. My father had a CABG on Mar 28, 2016. After keeping him in CTVS followed by HDU for 4 days doctors shifted him to his general ward. Since Mar 31, 2016 he was complaining that he was not able to remember anything. He forgot names of every family member and friends except one or two people who are not extremely close. He even forgot his own name as well. Doctors found yesterday that he got a blood clot in his left tempro -parietal lobe of the brain which had caused a stroke. This was definitely post CABG because before am operation too he had a CT scan where no such clot was evident. Now the doctors have given him the following medicines: Atova 20mg, diplate A-120, cetil 500mg, paracetamol, ditallox 12.5mg, insulin 6 units in morning, 8 units in afternoon and 6 units in the night. My father already had a mild stroke before in August 2012; that time his homocysteine level in sera was found to be 114 for which the doctor gave folic acid tablets as medicine. Rest a Carotid Doppler found minor plaques. Rest all tests were good. Now in this condition I am almost clueless what to do next? Please help.

It is not even 1 month when your father had a cabg. He has a history of a mild stroke in past and causes of stroke and heart attack are same, so is the prevention after a warning in the form of anginal pain or a mini stroke, he is a diabetic too, controlled on insulin. Sometimes medicines belonging to opiate group are given post operatively for bone pain, this does affect the memory and it is a temporary change, doctors shift to other pain killers like it has been the case - he is being given paracetamol, statins to bring down bad cholesterol that causes plaque. Carotid doppler has shown minor plaques which is expected because he had blockages which caused heart attack and stroke. May be your doctors will give medicines to dissolve clots in the brain. Continue the treatment as suggested by your doctors, remember it takes minimum 2 months for innermost tissues to recover, outwardly the stitches may look clear and normal, you need to have patience and help him recover. Good luck.

In second trimester of pregnancy due to increase in foetal size, abdominal respiration is affected and now the respiration is mainly thoracic. As a result thorax moves more to fulfil the requirement of respiration. On laying down abdominal content further presses the thorax causing more laboured breathing and pain. It is common. Avoid exertion, sleep in propped up position. If pain is unbearable you may get your ultrasound done to rule out any lung effusion.

My friend is suffering with AIDS. How can he take care of his health? What kind of medicines must be taken?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Most people who have become recently infected with HIV will not have any symptoms. They may, however, have a flu-like illness within a month or two after exposure to the virus, with fever, headache, tiredness, and enlarged lymph nodes (glands of the immune system easily felt in the neck and groin). These symptoms usually disappear within a week to a month and are often mistaken for those of other viral infections. During this period, people are very infectious, and HIV is present in large quantities in blood, semen, and vaginal fluids. More severe HIV symptoms—such as profound and unexplained fatigue, rapid weight loss, frequent fevers, or profuse night sweats—may not appear for 10 years or more after HIV first enters the body in adults, or within two years in children born with HIV infection. Prevention:- Because there is no cure or vaccine to prevent HIV, the only way people can prevent infection from the virus is to avoid high-risk behaviors putting them at risk of infection, such as having unprotected sex or sharing needles. NIAID urges everyone ages 13 to 64 to get tested for HIV as part of their routine health care. Catching HIV in its early stages can make a lifesaving difference.

yes it's doesn't have a cure but you can reduce the occurrence with lifestyle changes and food habits....meditation and yoga helps by cleaning our body....avoid foods which aggravate the condition....you can do allergic food testing for that...or at home by slowly introducing different food and checking which is not suited for your body

Hello Saurabh- It seems that you must have been a chronic masturbator before your married life. Masturbation teaches to orgasm quickly which later changes into premature ejaculation. It also decreases the body deposits (vital nutrients) needed to prolong and maintain a firm erection during sex, which is the reason behind softer erection. Fortunately the process can be reversed and your both the issues can be solved with the help of herbal aphrodisiacs and dietary corrections. Eat Well. Stronger Erection: Eat Well. ...
