Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing
Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

Pain in teeth in night time when I m sleep vrey painful please tell me any answer.

Pain in teeth in night time when I m sleep vrey painful please tell me any answer.
Pain during sleep or lying down is a classic sign of nerve /pulp damage of the tooth. You need to visit a dentist to get the treatment. most probably you will have to get a RCT done followed by a crown. In the mean time you can take some pain-killer like Combiflam tablet. The tablets will give you some relief but definitive treatment requires visit to your dentist. I hope this helps.

I've got bad breath. What should I do?

BDS
Dentist,
Bad breadth occurs due to many reasons. In most cases, it is due to plaque or calculus, tartar over your teeth and gum line, you should check if there is any yellowish or grayish layers around the teeth especially near gum area. For the proper diagnosis of the reason, you should consult a dentist near by and take a deep cleaning of your teeth, it should be done at least once per year. However there may be some other reasons for bad breath like lack of saliva, blood impurities, cavities or decayed teeth etc. Brush twice properly, use mouthwash, properly clean your tongue, gargling after eating especially after eating sticky or sugary food or drinks will help you reducing it, but to get it diagnosed the proper reason for bad breath is necessary and for that consult a nearby dentist.

Hello I have found the capital limits but can't anything about income assessment for HC2 or 3 - ie full or part help with dental costs. Does anyone have a rough idea of maximum income for eligibility? I'm over 60 and have both a state pension AND a supplementary pension so don't know if it is.

Hello I have found the capital limits but can't anything about income assessment for HC2 or 3 - ie full or part help ...
Certificate hc2 means that you will not need to pay the following health costs: prescription charges; nhs dental charges; eye tests, glasses and contact lenses; travel to hospital for nhs treatment; wigs and fabric supports. Certificate hc3 provides partial help with some of these health costs.

Quick Facts about TOOTH Sensitivity:
? Tooth sensitivity is the pain you may feel when you eat or drink hot or cold foods or drinks.
? Sensitivity happens when gums pull away from the teeth or when gum tissue is lost. This exposes the tooth root area below the gum line ,resulting in sensitivity.
? USE a toothbrush with soft bristles to avoid hurting your gums and teeth.
? You can also ask your dentist about special toothpastes for sensitive teeth.

I sleep with an open mouth which s causing my teeth be pushed forward. What should I do to prevent this habit?

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
I sleep with an open mouth which s causing my teeth be pushed forward. What should I do to prevent this habit?
Sleeping with open mouth is generally indicative of mouth breathing and no doubt the result will be front teeth pushing forward. This is because your lips always puts your teeth movement under control in normal person who does not have this habit have normal appearance of teeth. Mouth breathing / sleeping with open mouth can be due to many reasons such as developmental disorder of breathing system, unconscious habit. Short lips etc. If there is any problem with breathing system then you need to visit and ent surgeon for it treatment accompanied by dental treatment as in such cases only dental treatment will not be effective. If it is due to any childhood habit then a dentist will give a appliance to stop mouth breathing. Once your problem of mouth breathing is solved you can go for braces/orthodontic treatment for proper aligning of your teeth.

How can I get rid of tummy fat without dieting and how can I get white sparkling teeth?
Kindly consult a physician & a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Food or drinks acidic in nature should be consumed as little as possible. Consuming them in a large quantity can cause cavities as they soften the tooth material that further leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel.

★ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY MAKES ROOT CANALS EASIER.●

Root canal therapy has gone high-tech recently, making the procedure as easy as possible for both patients and dentists!
Thanks to recent root canal technology, teeth can now be treated without invasive dental surgery.
With modern dental instruments and advanced techniques, dentists have more resources than ever to complete successful root canals, and patients can have the procedure done in just one visit -- virtually pain-free!
Dental technology has produced the following advancements in root canal therapy:-------

1.NICKEL TITANIUM FILES -- Stainless steel files used to clean out the root canals were susceptible to breakage and limited the amount of infection that could be removed. Now, dentists use nickel titanium files, which are more flexible with less breakage.

2.ANESTHETICS -- Current local anesthetics make it easier to numb the entire tooth, so patients don't feel any pain during the procedure. There are also more sedation dentistry options for fearful patients, including nitrous oxide and oral sedation.

3.MODERN DENTAL INSTRUMENTS -- New high-torque motor hand pieces are much stronger and faster than before, enabling dentists to have more control over their dental instruments and better shape the root canal. Ultrasonic instruments are also being used during the root canal procedure -- they produce ultrasonic vibrations to clean the root in preparation for the filling.

4.MICROSCOPES -- Used mostly during complex dental treatment, surgical operating microscopes allow dentists to see deep within the root canal for improved removal of infection. Magnifying glasses with fiber optic light can also be worn to give dentists a better view during the procedure.

5. X-RAYS -- Dentists may use X-rays several times during the procedure to check the status of the tooth. Digital X-rays not only produce less radiation, but are developed immediately, lessening the time you spend in the dental chair.

6.APEX LOCATORS -- The dentist's goal during the procedure is to clean and fill the canal to the very end of the root, or apex. If a dentist cannot find the apex, some of the infection may be left behind. An electronic apex locator measures the root, finding the apex through sound waves and guiding the dentist to the end of the root canal.

7.CLEANING AND FILLING THE CANALS -- Dentists take several measures to keep the infection from returning. Once the infection is removed, dentists use a medicated rinse to wash away any leftover debris and disinfect the tooth. Gutta percha, an antibacterial tooth filling material, better fills the canal, and non-allergenic dental sealers seal the space without irritating the tooth.

8.Laser ROOT CANAL THERAPY -- The most recent innovation in root canal technology, laser dentistry thoroughly cleans the root's canal without using drills or hand files. The Waterlase® laser uses a laser and high-pressure water system to

The toothache you are referring to may be due to a variety of causes, the most common being: 1.Tooth decay 2. Tooth fracture 3. A damaged filling 4. Infected gums The most common cause is a long-standing cavity or tooth decay, which usually requires a root canal treatment (RCT). The same treatment applies to a tooth fracture as well. In case of a damaged filling, there may be two possibilities: either the filling can be removed and replaced with a new one after applying a soothing base material; or if the damaged filling is placed deep near the nerves of the tooth, it may require an RCT. Infected gums usually are treated with deep cleaning/scaling after which there is permanent relief from pain. I suggest that that you consult me privately on Lybrate, so that I can provide more specific answers. You will be able to send across images of your aching tooth/teeth, and looking at them will help me be in a better position to solve your problem.
