You can give about 0.8 ml every six hours (weight presumed 5.5-6 kg) & stay cool. Fever will subside within 48 hours. You can do ice fomentation over swollen part.

No, properly given injection with disposable syringe and needle will be safe. It will not cause any infection calling for use of a local antibiotic (mupirocin. This is used to treat bacterial skin infections.

Yes you can, if you want. First my advice will be to start weaning with home food like thin rice dal, Kanji. Continue to breast feed. Use any formula if needed, suitable for babies who are six months of age or more.

So unfortunate to know this, these (high risk) preterm need regular follow up for any deficiency in eyesight, hearing or neuromuscular development for a year or so, with concerned specialists. Please be regular and follow their advice sincerely to avoid further damage. Early diagnosis and intervention is essential to avoid learning disabilities, which are prone to occur in these children.

Ask concern incharge in the hospital, they will help you. Otherwise, wait for a month, it will show up, if no elevated lesion (reddish papule), then you can give BCG once more.

Walamycin suspension 12.5 mg/5 ml. Safe for 3 month baby. Any side effect of this medicine on baby.

It is no more used in pediatric practice. Three months baby may not need anything for lose stools, if he is active, playful and growing normally. But see that child passes adequate urine and there is no dehydration due to pathological diarrhea. Clinical examination by a pediatrician will be helpful.

There is nothing risk free in medicine, but benefits out way risks and that's why it is advise. Common side effects include fever, local pain and very rarely anaphylaxis can occur. Don't worry to much, believe your pediatrician, he is trained to handle any untoward effects of vaccine.

HiI Sir My pedritician has vaccinated my son at 6 weeks today. He gave pentavaccine and PVC vaccine but not given IPV. He gave only OPV. Is it necessary to take IPV also. Can IPV injected after 2 day of vaccination.

Check again if it was hexa instead of penta. If penta then yes you can, but I am afraid, IPV is not available as a single solitary vaccine for quite some time. Next time at 10 and 14 th weeks, discuss with your pediatrician about combo vaccine penta plus IPV. Two doses of IPV may be good enough if IPV is not available separately.
