Hi lybrate-user, normal range is in fasting 90mg/do and post lunch120mg/dl. But as the fluctuations are common in this you need to do monthly once that will be sufficient. Go for hba1c test to know accurately.

What exactly happens during menopause?

You may have heard the word menopause mentioned by women with both excitement and trepidation; excitement because menopause means the end of painful and annoying periods, but trepidation, because it comes along with uncomfortable symptoms and also means the end of a woman's fertility.

A woman officially goes through menopause twelve months after her last cycle. In other words, if you don't have a period for twelve months, you are considered to be in menopause. While the age that this happens often varies, the average age is 51 years.

Menopause is a natural process that, on average, takes four years to complete. During the process, a woman's ovaries get smaller and eventually stop producing the hormones estrogen and progesterone.

Since these hormones control the menstrual cycle, once they are not produced anymore, the eggs become depleted and eventually she is no longer able to get pregnant.

The different stages of menopause are:
Perimenopause, during which your periods become irregular but don't stop. Perimenopause usually occurs to women in their late 40s, along with uncomfortable symptoms such as the famed 'hot flashes' (a quick feeling of heat sometimes accompanied by a flushed face and sweating), lower energy, vaginal dryness, sleep problems, night sweats, and changes in metabolism and mood. While you may be in the early stage of menopause, don't think you cannot get pregnant because you can! if you don't want to become pregnant, we recommend that you use some form of birth control to be safe.
Menopause. Menopause can really only be determined after the fact and since it starts 12 months after your last period. The same symptoms that can occur during perimenopause can also occur during menopause.
Postmenopause, a stage that lasts for a woman's entire life after menopause. Unfortunately, a recent study found that women can experience symptoms of menopause for an average of 4.5 years after their last period, so don't be surprised if you have hot flashes even while you are postmenopausal.
What can you do to relieve symptoms?
To clarify, menopause doesn't need treatment it's a natural part of life! but the symptoms can be uncomfortable, so there is no reason you shouldn't seek to relieve them, especially if the symptoms interfere with the quality of your life. So what can you do?
Maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise
Kick your bad habits, such as smoking and drinking a lot of alcohol
Avoid caffeine (caffeine often triggers hot flashes)
Remain sexually active! it can help preserve the lining of the vagina
Talk to your doctor about a prescription medication for hot flashes
Other causes of menopause: other causes of menopause (or early menopause) can be a hysterectomy, chemotherapy or radiation therapy, chronic diseases or primary ovarian insufficiency. If this describes your situation, speak to your doctor about how to relieve your symptoms. You should also speak to your doctor if you experience any vaginal bleeding in your postmenopausal state.
Your sex life after menopause
Just because you no longer get your period doesn't mean you can't have sex. In fact, some women report an increased sex drive after menopause, because they don't have the same anxiety about getting pregnant. On the other hand, other women report a decreased sex drive, which can be due to any number of reasons, including vaginal dryness, sleep problems, medications, depression, or more difficulty getting aroused. These symptoms, however, are able to be treated, if there is a will.

in majority of cases , it is totally treatable, you need counseling , need change in life style, leave smoking, avoid alcohol, keep your bp and sugar level under control, reduce your wt, go for morning walk for 1 hr, do exercise regularly,you will be alright, it will help. Thanks

Post maturity is a known condition. It all depends how many days you are over due. If it is more than 10 days you need to be examined and subsiquently medically induced for initiating labour pain.

Hi, blood pressure is checked by a medical instrument called'sphygmomanometer' which tells you 2 readings- upper (systolic) and lower (diastolic). Ideally the blood pressure should be checked once a day at the same time of the day daily if you want to make a note or maintain a chart initially. Once you will get an idea about the range of your blood pressure, can check once a week or may be once in 15 days or once a month until you face any signs or symptoms.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

I think I have a more of a mental or a psychological problem. I cannot open up my feelings with other people whether they may be my family or friends. Hi. As height can be gained till 21 yrs. Of age in males and 18 yrs. In females, so you do have 1yr. More to grow further! medication: start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - bakson's hite-aid and five phos. - both thrice daily and thuja 1m/ one dose once a week - take them for 4 months. Management: consume a balanced diet. A person will look a lot shorter when having a plump body. Not only that, being fit by eating right will make you taller and feel better! eat plenty of lean protein. Lean protein, such as white poultry meat, fish, soy, and dairy, helps promote muscle growth and healthy bones. Simple carbohydrates such as pizza, cakes, sweets, and soda, are the stuff to stay away from. Eat plenty of calcium. Calcium, found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, and in dairy (yogurt and milk), helps promote healthy bones. Get enough zinc. Studies, although they have been inconclusive so far, point to a possible link between zinc deficiencies and stunted growth in boys. Good sources of zinc include oysters, wheat germ, pumpkin and squash seeds, lamb, peanuts, and crab. Get enough vitamin d. Do get indulge in stretch exercises, and sports like basketball, volleyball. -sleeping is the time when your body grows, get between 9 and 11 hours of sleep per night if you're a preteen or still younger than 20. -avoid any bad habit like smoking which affects the height, also avoid anabolic steroids which inhibit bone growth in young children and teens. Aa-always stand straight instead of hunching your back. (you can probably increase your height by a few inches with diet and lifestyle changes, especially if you are still in your teens or even your early 20s (for boys).) get back to me after 4 months for further guidance. there is in ayurveda mention pinda swed ..it is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner .. 1.boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2.apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night .. by doing above thing you will get good result
