My hairs are dry and falling to much and dandruff too suggest any natural things by which problem can be solve.?

BAMS
Ayurveda,
My hairs are dry and falling to much and dandruff too suggest any natural things by which problem can be solve.?
In todays times, our lifestyle and diet has changed so drastically that health and beauty concerns are a constant source of worry! skin troubles and hair troubles are a plenty and are a source of embarrassment for women all over the world. Dandruff, hair fall, split ends, receding hair lines etc the list is never ending! the solutions are also increasing in numbers but not in efficacy. We have a number of lotions and creams and god knows what else but it? s like rubbing water onto the leaves of the plant instead of feeding the roots. Pointless! proper diet and nutrition from within can solve any of these problems better than all those creams on the shelf put together. Healthy inside make us beautiful outside! the right food for hair growth is one of the most amazing hair growth tips ever. Hair growth foods: 1. Green leafy vegetables: green leafy vegetables are the best food for hair growth. Spinach, lettuce, leafy greens, turnip greens, broccoli, beans and green peppers are rich in nutrients that help and promote hair growth. Regular intake of green leafy vegetables will ensure growth of hair and also strengthens the roots of hair. The green leafy vegetables reduces hair fall very effectively. 2. Other vegetables and fruits: other vegetables like carrot, sweet potatoes, orange, papaya, banana, onion, garlic and kidney beans are also helps hair growth. They help by making scalp and hair roots strong. This they achieve by ensuring proper blood circulation in the scalp that in turn helps in hair growth. By mixing them in a salad or boiling them and adding them to our diet is definitely one way to control our hair troubles! 3. Sprouts: sprouts are wonderful for hair growth. The most important and famous sprout is green gram dhal sprout. There are so many sprouts like mung beans, green gram dhal, peas that help in hair growth and stops hair fall. It is also very easy to prepare! soak green gram dhal in the morning in an air tight box. Then in the afternoon strain the water and close the box, put the box in a dark place. In the morning the sprouts will be ready for you to eat. It will be very effective when taken with the morning meal. This is a great food for putting an end to hair fall immediately and inducing hair growth. Also eating this sprout regularly will make hair shiny and smooth. It is protein rich and contains so many nutrients. 4. Nuts and dry fruits: the nuts and dry fruits help so much in hair growth. Almonds, dates, walnuts, fig and prunes are the best. Dates and figs are rich in iron content that helps a lot in hair growth when we eat it regularly. Almonds are rich in nutrients that can make hair strong and shiny. 5. Fish: good news for fish lovers! fish contains nutrients that will make hair shiny and strong while promoting hair growth. It contains omega 3 fatty acids which help nourish hair very well. Those who don? t want to eat fish or are vegetarians can take sea cod tablets. It is extremely beneficial. 6. Cow's milk: milk is the major source for calcium and iron, and there an ideal hair growth food. The abundance of these nutrients not only reflects on bones and health but also on our hair. It aids in controlling hair loss and promoting hair growth. A full glass of cow milk needs to be a part of your diet if healthy and shining hair is your aim! 7. Citrus fruit: we have just established that iron is essential if your looking for healthy hair growth. But will simply consuming iron suffice isn't it necessary for it to be absorbed by our body too vitamin c is an absolute must as a hair growth foods for it absorbs the iron into our body. And this is why vitamin c needs to be a part of your daily diet! 8. Soya bean: proteins rich for hair growth is a must! if your a vegetarian and are on a hunt for that perfect source of proteins, then your search ends here. This is the best food for hair growth. Soybeans has 40% proteins and a great deal of good fats which are also much needed for hair growth. 9. Beef: last but not the least and most definitely one of your favorite if you are a meat eater! this is a great source of iron, zinc and vitamin b which are all wonder nutrients for your hair! add this to your weekly diet and watch your hair steady grow healthy and strong! 10. Shrimp: have you been avoiding red meat for because of the fat and cholesterol that doesn't mean you need to compromise on your protein intake! apart from being a very high protein source, shrimp also contains good portions of vitamin b12, iron and zinc. And all three of these vitamins are prevent hair breakage. Why vitamins this is one question I am sure we all have! along with which are the most important of the different kinds? there are actually two that are extremely important for hair care and growth. Vitamin b complex, also known as the h vitamin around the world and vitamin c. Vitamin b or biotin improves texture and health of brittle hair while vitamin c prevents premature graying. 11. Water: this isn't exactly food but then water is a very essential and major portion of our body so it isnt exactly s surprise that it shows up here! hydrated system aids in better hair growth. So if water isn't your thing then add fresh fruit juice to your diet! there are also a few simple things that you do on the external end to aid the improvement of the internal process of rejuvenation. Use natural hair care products for proper hair care. You can try any of the following tips Apply honey to your scalp to deal with frizzy and tangled hair troubles Mix apple cider vinegar to water. This will give you volume and shine at the same times use a rinse of lemon water for dry hair.

Hi lybrate-user, for effective weight loss one should be determined & start with adding few changes in the life style as it should not be a short time fix! 1. Start maintaining a diet diary, measure what you are eating. 2. Go for a min 30 minutes of a brisk walk or cardio. 3. Have small frequent meals. 4. Increase your water intake. 5. Add colour to your plate in form different vegetables & add protein to your every meal 6. Cut down on unhealthy snacks, aerated drinks, sweets. 7. Reduce salt intake. 8. Never skip breakfast. 9. Do not starve yourself. 10. Enrich your diet with fibre. 11. Get atleast 7-8 hour of sleep at night. 12. Avoid stress. 13. Believe in yourself. 14. My weight is decrease according to my height. What type of food I take into breakfast, lunch and dinner?

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

I have diabetes since four years can you suggest some measures to control diabetes?

I have diabetes since four years can you suggest some measures to control diabetes?
Thank you for the query. It would have been helpful if you would have mentioned your Fasting blood sugar, 2 hrs post prandial sugar and HbA1c level. 1. If your HbA1c level is less than 7.5%, it would imply a fair control on blood sugar. Dietary regimen (avoidance of refined carbohydrate-pasta, white bread, noodles, burgers etc and carbonated beverages) and exercise (30 min per day for 5 days a week) may be helpful. Sometimes, a low dose of the medicine metformin may be added, which may be beneficial. 2. If the HbA1c level is more than 7.5% one or more oral medications are used in addition to diet and exercise. The medications are given as per the patient's tolerance. 3. If HbA1c is more than 9% it is advisable to go for Insulin. However, if someone is completely non-compliant or averse to Insulin a combination of 2 or more drugs may be used with caution. 4. Since you are diabetic for 4 years it is advisable to get the following tests done if not done already Urine for spot ACR- to check the renal status Eye check up - to rule out diabetic retinopathy. 5. Foot care is very important and even a minor injury must be taken care of. 6. Always remember whatever dietary intake you are having, your calorie intake must be less or equal to our calorie expenditure. It is advisable to get a diet chart done, as per your body weight and activity level. 7. You can take a course of vitamin B complex for nerve protection. Please consult a physician for further advise. Regards.

My friend regularly has an habit of alcohol consumption. His age is 25. If he does not drinks for a day his body starts shivering. He can't wait at that moment runs to the shop and takes alcohol. Then his body comes to normal stage. Can't we change him?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Of course not: he needs to want to change first. He is an addict and the shivering he is experiencing is the withdrawal symptoms because his body is craving the substance. So, ideally he must want to stop this habit. Otherwise it will become a futile exercise. If this habit has become too much as we can see, then you will need to admit him into a center for rehabilitation. He will need to be there for at least 6 months and they will do detoxification and treatment for the addictive nature followed by extensive counseling. There are medicines that help with the drinking just to ease the initial craving and to act as an antabuse i.e. he will have a serious reaction, if he consumes even a small quantity of alcohol or alcohol based substances. It has to be carefully monitored to see that he not only consumes the medication but is also avoiding alcohol. Ultimately, it is his will power and the support that he receives from the medical fraternity and his close and dear ones. He must also learn to substitute and deal with the oral need, a rigid value system, the script issue, and of course take a look at all the genetic factors to plan a strategy not to get into what is called ‘cross addictions’ i.e. another form of addiction that may appear alright but is in fact as bad as the primary addiction. The center or hospital and the counselor will advise and guide him on several measures and precautions he will need to take to stay with his resolve. Even after the rehabilitation he must attend AA meetings and continue this support for a long time. The family will also need to attend some sessions and go for Al-anon meetings for their co-dependency issues. He cannot be treated in isolation because the family has gotten used to his drinking and have made some unhealthy adaptations to somehow cope. Make a serious plan with whoever else’s support he can get and act on it fast. If he is not cooperative, there are some centers that will come and pick him up, after he is completely drunk, and admit him by force. This will however, require the family’s consent.

It indicates urinary incontinence due to muscle weakness, or deficiency of essential nutrients, we suggest you build up strength by doing physical excercises and take a balanced diet. Take a urine alkalinser as sometimes acidity in urinary tract or infection can also lead to all of these problems. Get your blood sugar levels checked too. And avoid spicy food, too much of tea coffee should also be restricted.
