She seem to be suffering from Borderline Personality or Emotionally unstable personality with episodes of conversion. The cause is unknown but research suggests there is an interaction between adverse life events and genetic factors. Neurobiological research suggests that abnormalities in the frontolimbic networks are associated with many of the symptoms There is a pattern of sometimes rapid fluctuation from periods of confidence to despair, with fear of abandonment and rejection. There is a particularly strong tendency towards suicidal thinking and self-harm. They have love-hate relationship with close ones. Transient psychotic symptoms, including brief delusions and hallucinations, may also be present. It is also associated with substantial impairment of social, psychological and occupational functioning and quality of life. People with emotionally unstable personality disorder are particularly at risk of suicide. Its course is variable and, although many people recover over time. Before you decide to start medicine I would suggest you to try following thing for stress management. In our current life style most of us are not equipped to deal with our mental and emotional processes. Due to constant out side pressure and expectations we doubt and question our abilities. Also in a age of super fast life we lean towards instant results, which at times are not possible. This again increase our stress level. The best way to deal with this is to build our resilience and learn to manage our strees level. Once you are able to manage your stress, your self confideance and your self esteem both will increase and you will be able to make better decisions and accomplish lot in life. Try following on a regular basis and in 2 to 4 weeks you will see some positive changes in your life. Stress is a by product of our modern life style. Due to chronic stress you have a negative chain of thought repeating in your mind. The wonderful new is that our mind could be wired to switch back to positive things and resilience building. When things does not happen as we wish or people do not behave as we expect that is when out of disappointment, frustration, loneliness, anger, sadness. Etc we react and our mind starts thinking negative thoughts. Changing this pattern of responding to stressful situation requires both persistence and patience. Also you will only be able to work on this out of love and kindness towards you. Strong motivation will go a long way. Writing a statement about how would you want to respond in a similar situation and how will your life and your happiness will change if you do learn to manage your stress and how to respond to it. Once that is clear. Try following things to learn relaxation response which leads to better coping mechanism on a daily basis. To begin with doing guided progressive muscular relaxation before sleeping will help you relax. You could google and download an audio file. I would also suggest you to take a multiple small break to take 3 nice and deep breath while keeping your eyes closed. You could do this while sitting or standing or while even walking or climbing stairs (keep your eyes open in that case). When you take a nice and deep break there is actual physiological change in your body. This will help you to activate parasympathetic nervous system which promotes relaxation and helps you calm down and think more clearly. This will also actually improve your performance in your work. Along with this exercise is one of the best way to relive stress and stay fit. Engage in any kind of physical activity at least 4 times a week. This also helps in stress reduction. Along with this some relaxation exercises as well as engaging in joyful activities such as music, singing, dancing, reading, being in nature, gardening, talking with friends or anything which you enjoy will help reducing stress and rejuvenation of your mind and body. Have good routine for sleep and eating. Lot of research has now proven that sugar is very harmful for our health. Reduce sugar and refined white floor in your diet as much as you could. Along with this also increase consumption of raw vegetables in the form of salad in both the meals of your day. Hope this helps, wishing you very best,

My husband is very short tempered. He gets angry on very small small things. We did love marriage 2 years back and have a 1 year old daughter. Before marriage he was very good to me but after marriage he suddenly got changed. He abuses me, scolds me, even sometimes got angry with our child. When he talks with his friends he seems very happy. He doesn't talk to me, not even replied to my questions. What should I do? I am really upset and depressed.

You need to sit down and discuss your problem with your husband. Try to focus on the issues rather than the behavior. Engage with him when he is calm. Don't try to react when he is angry. Don't compare the days of courtship to your current days. Don't involve third person in the family to solve your problem at the beginning. Try to engage yourself in activities other than child care and house hold activities which will give you happiness.

srinu initially you are enjoyed very much. but now you are in problem. better to quit smoking. otherwise you will take severe dose of medicine or you need to consume for long time. it is better to stop. when you have feeling of smoke. it is better to chicklets or chocolates or chewing gum. or take any tiffins or small amount sweets or hot. if you have that thought better to move from that place. better to make friendly relations with who are not smoke. dont sit alone and dont think too much about this problem. better to spend most of the time with good friends. better to share your internal feelings and problems with close friends and family members. better to develop busy schedule of work. if you busy in work there is no chance of smoking. dont make friendly relation with pan shops. better to keep away from them. dont think too much. take right time good food. relax most of the time. be comfortable all the time. be sociable and be happy. ok all the best.

Is hypertension also be considered as a cause unhealthy heart. If a patient is having BP with 130/90 or even slightly higher, is it a must to take a drug and if so, what is the drug of choice and dosage recommended?

Is hypertension also be considered as a cause unhealthy heart. If a patient is having BP with 130/90 or even slightly...
Hypertension is defintly a cause of unhealthy heart. Usually the blood pressure is considered as 120/80 plus or minus 20. But it cannot be generalised. This normal value is taken by law of averages. Fact is the blood pressure or so called normal values ranges from persons to person and it cannot be treated by considering this law of averages. Moreover it is modified by different factors such as age, sex, timings, exertion, mental state, etc. You can listen to Dr. B m hegde the renowned cardiologist in who says gandhilji had blood pressure of 220/110 and it was normal for him and he died of gunshot not by stroke. So if the person has any symptoms associated with this pressure he needs treatment. Otherwise no. Moreover as per homoeopathy blood pressure rises not without any cause. And this cause is depending on the sensitivity of a person and this sensitivity and proneness to hypertension has to be treated for a permanent cure. Otherwise he will become a slave of antihypertensives which only suppresses the blood pressure never cures it.

I have stress all time. What can I do for this? I don't suffer from this any more.
*When Your Stress Goes Flying Out the Window* Stress is so all-pervading in this material world that everyone is tortured by it. Stress takes many forms. We are stressed by health problems, financial problems, interpersonal problems and many more. The solution for all varieties of stress is to understand that its underlying cause is bodily consciousness, the false identification of the self with the body. As soon as one realizes that he is not his body and that his real happiness is based on harmonizing his consciousness with the supreme consciousness, and he then learns the art of doing this, his stress goes flying out the window to be replaced with profoundly sweet transcendental bliss. - courtesy of Sda.

I feel lost. I have trust issues and I can't speak to anyone about my mental state. I do have suicidal thoughts for some reason. I realized o should try once before I give up.

You must be under stress to have BP and to some extent diabetes so early in life (I don't know how long you have had these problems, though). You should meet with a counselor and talk about your feelings and things that are causing you stress. In the meantime do some of these recommendations very faithfully if it meets your approved diet plans too: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem-solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position, you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food. You may also include these noted foods that are good for your brain health: Brain-Friendly Foods MIND stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. But the MIND approach “specifically includes foods and nutrients that medical literature and data show to be good for the brain, such as berries,” says Martha Clare Morris, ScD, director of nutrition and nutritional epidemiology at Rush University Medical Center. You eat things from these 10 food groups: •Green leafy vegetables (like spinach and salad greens): At least six servings a week •Other vegetables: At least one a day •Nuts: Five servings a week •Berries: Two or more servings a week •Beans: At least three servings a week •Whole grains: Three or more servings a day •Fish: Once a week •Poultry (like chicken or turkey): Two times a week •Olive oil: Use it as your main cooking oil. •Wine: One glass a day You avoid: •Red meat: Less than four servings a week •Butter and margarine: Less than a tablespoon daily •Cheese: Less than one serving a week •Pastries and sweets: Less than five servings a week •Fried or fast food: Less than one serving a week.

I can not remember anything. I think my brain is not working. What I can do for my memory help me?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Your brain is like a muscle. You need to exercise it regularly. The exciting thing is that you don’t have to be a millionaire to increase your brain capacity. All you need to do is invest a little time to regularly train your brain. So what can you do? Here are 10 simple ways you can increase your brain power and improve your intelligence! 1. Do something new When you experience something ‘new’ you actually ‘stimulate’ your brain! Don’t get stuck in a rut doing the same old things – the only way to change the structure of your brain is to do something new. This creates new neural pathways, increasing your intelligence. You could take a new route to work, try a new recipe for dinner, or even a new form of exercise – mix it up! 2. Exercise regularly It’s been proven that regular exercise helps to increase brain function and enhances neurogenesis. This means that every time you exercise you are creating new brain cells! Get off the couch and get moving! Your brain will thank you for it:) 3. Train your memory How often do you hear people say “I wish I had a better memory!’ Yet no-one does anything about this! If you discipline yourself to memorise phone numbers and other important numbers (passport, credit card, insurance, driving license) you will start to see a marked improvement in your memory. 4. Be curious Instead of taking everything at face value, get into the habit of questioning everyday things/products, services that you come into contact with. By being ‘curious’ and questioning everything, you force your brain to innovate & create new ideas. Curiosity may have killed that cat, more importantly it created super important things like electricity and computers! 5. Think positive Stress & anxiety kill existing brain neurons and also stop new neurons from being created. Research has shown that positive thinking, especially in the future tense, speeds up the creation of cells and dramatically reduces stress & anxiety. Try and get a handle on negative thoughts and make an effort to replace them with positive ones. 6. Eat healthy Our diets have a HUGE impact on brain function. Our brains consume over 20% of all nutrients & oxygen that we consume – so remember to feed your brain with the good stuff! (i. E. Fresh fruit and veg & plenty of OMEGA 3 oils found in oily fish) 7. Read a book Reading relieves tension & stress (brain-cell killers) because it’s a form of escapism. Research has also shown that using your imagination is a great way to train your brain because you force your mind to ‘picture’ what you are imagining. Reading is a great way to trigger your imagination! 8. Get enough sleep Sleep is like a mini detox for the brain. This is when your body regenerates cells and removes all the toxins that have built up during the day. Get to bed between the hours of 9pm and midnight to benefit from the most effective hours of sleep!

I am 26 yr old single male. I m still unemployed. I am in very stress and depressed in my life. My body weight increasing continously. Scott m peck in his book? the road less travelled, begins with a three word statement. It stands alone like a one-line paragraph and it reads? life is difficult. Then he suggests that we should not attempt to change this fact but that we should change ourselves to approach this situation by, discipline. Now even if you are depressed, do not give in to it. In fact I always recommend that this is the only condition that you must fight by doing the opposite of what you feel like doing. You must exercise vigorously to counter the depression. Exercise is the best holistic medicine for almost all diseases. Perseverance is the key to getting a job. I hope you have registered with all the online and other placement agencies to widen the scope of getting a job. You must cultivate hope and those who are positive attract positive forces and events towards themselves. I hope you have faith in god because ultimately he is the one who is in command. Pray and keep the faith and surely things will suddenly turn around. In hope there is health but in despair there is failure and loss. You can meet with a counselor to generate hope and cultivate hope.
