It is very normal. Many individuals get it. Try using scissors rather than shaving if you have trouble. Tc.

Hiii lybrate-user, as you are suffering from psoriasis since your childhood, psoriasis is genetic disorder triggered due to stressful conditions and irregular life style. We are treating psoriasis using ayurvedic medicines. Psoriasis has three stages. First stage is when disease remain on skin and there are scaly patches. Second stage comes when there is pitting on nails and in last stage it enter the joints and there is pain in small joints. Generally patient use steroidal application on patches which give temporary relief and disease reappear after 2/3 days. In severe cases methotrexate is used which is not a safer option and is liver toxic. Ayurveda has got a complete remedy for psoriasis. It is a safer option and can be used for longer duration without any side effects. Ayurvedic external application give very quick results with sun exposure in clearing the scales and internal treatment does not allow the disease to re appear. Psoriasis is a manageable disease and can be managed with ease and effectively using ayurveda. You should use 3 gms of haldi with milk helps in psoriasis patients.

Understanding The Role Of Hormones In Infertility!

Understanding The Role Of Hormones In Infertility!

Ever wondered how your body releases an egg each month or how the uterus wall thins and thickens at different times of the month? It is the job of your body’s chemical messengers – hormones, which manage the various processes involved in preparing your body for fertilization.

Hormones and Fertility
A subtle balance of different hormones, involved in managing the reproductive organs, enables and maintains fertility. These hormones regulation changes like the discharge of an egg from the ovary and thickening of the uterine wall lining (endometrium). Infertility results if this balance is disrupted.

Roles of hormones in making a woman infertile

Knowing the role of a hormone in making a woman infertile will be easier if you know its role in making the same woman fertile. Here is the role of the five most important hormones that encourage fertility in women-

  1. FSH or Follicle-stimulating hormone - The pituitary gland in the brain releases the Follicle-stimulating hormone. The major role of this hormone is to allow a woman to have better control over her menstrual cycle and production of an egg in her ovary. The levels of this hormone designate the proper functioning of the ovary as well as the quality of the produced egg. When there is an imbalance in this hormone, the ovary of the woman will not function properly to produce eggs, thus creating infertility in women.
  2. LH or Luteinizing hormone - The pituitary gland releases this hormone. It plays a vital role in stimulating the ovary of a woman to discharge eggs. It instigates the manufacturing of progesterone to prepare the uterus of a woman to accept a fertilized egg. When the level of this hormone is disturbed, it will not stimulate the ovary to release eggs.
  3. Estradiol Hormone - This is a vital form of the oestrogen hormone. When the levels of this hormone become irregular, it will reduce the chances of making a woman conceive.
  4. Thyroid hormones - This hormone assists greatly in making the ovulation as well as the ovary of a woman to function normally by interacting with the progesterone and oestrogen hormones.
  5. Progesterone hormone - This hormone plays an important role in making a fertilized egg to continue as well as to develop in the uterus of a woman. Any imbalance in the level of this hormone will not allow the egg in the uterus to grow.

It would be helpful to know if she is breast feeding and how long her periods have returned after delivery. If she was having regular periods for the last few months and it has suddenly stopped now then please repeat a urine pregnancy test with a morning sample. If still negative then consider taking tablet modus to initiate a bleed.

What Makes One Lose Control of the Urinary Bladder?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, DNB (Urology)
Urologist, Ghaziabad
What Makes One Lose Control of the Urinary Bladder?

What you should know about urinary incontinence.

Urinary incontinence is the inability to hold urine in the bladder because of loss of control of the bladder. The severity may range from temporary to chronic, depending on the cause of this disease. Urinary incontinence is more common in women than men and can be categorized into three types.

Types and symptoms of urinary incontinence

Stress incontinence: this incontinence may occur while participating in any physical activity such as a sudden cough, laugh, sneezing or exercising. The stress here refers to the sudden physical pressure that a person experiences, leading him/her to urinate involuntarily.

Urge incontinence: a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscular wall of the bladder causes an urgency to urinate. This urgency can be formed by a sudden change in position or sex.

Overflow incontinence: this is more common in men with prostate gland problems, damaged bladder or blocked urethra. The person has an urge to urinate frequently but in small amounts.

Causes of urinary incontinence

There are a number of causes of urinary incontinence ranging from aging to cancer and physical damage to the neurological disorder.

1. Aging: with age, the bladder muscle weakens and the chances of incontinence increases.

Damage: since the pelvic muscles support the bladder any damage to it (surgery or any procedure to remove the uterus) can lead to urinary incontinence.

2. Enlarged prostate: enlargement of the prostate gland in older men may give rise to this condition.

Cancer: urinary incontinence may be associated with untreated prostate cancer, which is a side effect of treatments for it.

3. Menopause: estrogen is a hormone that keeps the lining of bladder and urethra healthy. After menopause the production of estrogen is decreased, increasing the chances of urinary incontinence.

4. Prevention: urinary incontinence is not preventable but some steps can be taken to reduce the risk of it. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding smoking, practicing pelvic floor exercises, avoiding caffeine and acidic foods and eating more fiber to prevent constipation can help decreasing the risk of it.
