Hello Type 1 DM is due to absolute insulin deficiency. So for them Insulin is the only thing which is required and oral medication which are available are contraindicated I am sorry to tell you that it needs to be controlled with regular insulijn doasge and regualr checkups but unfortunately it cannot be treated permanently Thanks Dr Joozer Rangwala

I am suffering from thyroid and thats why my weight is also high what can I do for loose my weight.
Hypothyroidism is the main reason why the weight is increasing. If tsh levels are brought to normal, preferably between 3 to 4 milli units/ ml, then efforts to reduce weight will be fruitful. So firdt thing is to control hypothyroidism, bring tsh levels down to 3 to 4 milli units/ml, take a restricted diet, that gives exact calories based on ideal body weight, (47 kgs), daily exercise of at least 1 hour is needed.

Figs are mainly made of polyunsaturated fats, which add healthy calories to your diet. Also, figs contain a good amount of carbohydrates that will help you gain weight. Soak five to six dried figs in water overnight. The next day, eat them in two parts during the day. Do this daily for about a month. Alternatively, soak two dried figs overnight in milk and eat it before breakfast. Follow this routine for two months.

I feel very tired when I get up in morning, even after a good 10 HR sleep. I had very low vit d levels detected an year back for which I took injection and calcirol for 3 months. I also got checked for thyroid, test was negative. What could be the reason?

The key is to eat in moderation at regular intervals, and not to starve yourself. Start your day with a good and healthy breakfast like a cereal and milk combination for e. G oats/ dalia porridge with low fat milk or curd. Between your lunch and breakfast you can have a light mid-morning snack, i. E, a fruit perhaps, and follow this by a balanced meal in moderate quantity for lunch. Have plenty of vegetables which will keep you full and cut down on the amount of rice/ chapatis that you are having. Also cut down on your fat intake and reduce oil in cooking. Gaining weight is not an overnight process. To gain weight, aim to eat at least 6 calorie dense meals throughout the day without fail. Hello, as you must know, junk food, biscuits, packaged food and aerated drinks are to be completely avoided. We tend to eat these in our free time. These can be replaced by popcorn (without butter), mamra, roasted chana, marie buscuit (1-2 in a day) and juice for drinking. You can cut down on the potion of your daily meal but do not avoid having it completely. Having a light and early dinner helps in weight loss. Try to have soup or khichdi for dinner and avoid carbohydrates. If you work out, you need to increase the intake of protein. Weight loss can be permanent if you continue to maintain it. If you loose ten kilos by vigorous exercise, after loosing weight, you can do relaxed exercises and keep your diet controlled (not necessarily as strictly as you did during weight loss).

Hello, Exercise and diet are two pillars of weight loss,either of it if compromised can be harmful. Obesity is the core problem of all the metabolic issues,including brain. Brain needs good nutrition to function well ,incorrect diet can make the brain sluggish and inactive. Every part of the body needs constant supply of energy(which is only possible with the quality of food you consume) which initiates clear thinking,stamina,maintenance of proper metabolism. You cannot work on a specific body part. You have to work on overall fat loss and toning. Try to eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Include exercises that tone your back and abdominal muscles too. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets and singular ab exercises or ab machines will not give you targeted results. The fats will remain as it is. It's all about overall work out and balanced diet.
