Hi take ginger tea mixed with 2-3 crushed garlic cloves. Massaging the chest with warm sesame oil mixed with salt helps to loosen the phlegm deposited in the chest, especially, when followed with steam inhalation. Take shwas kuthar ras twice a day. Homeopathic remedies can assist people who want to work on their emotional, mental and spiritual growth and development. The remedies can help people who strive to achieve a more positive mindset and a feeling of well being. Negative moods, thoughts and actions can bring about imbalances. Personality traits, such as impatience, fear, depression, bitterness, lack of self-confidence or motivation affect a person’s vitality and can adversely affect health. Homeopathic remedies do not profoundly change the personality of the individual. It is individual differences which make life so rich. Homeopathic remedies help to restore balance within the personality. For example, a chronic worrier can become an occasional worrier, a highly critical and judgmental person can become more tolerant, and a person with a poor self-image can gain more self-confidence. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

I am 24 years old male and I have problem of asthma. Sometimes it is very difficult to take breath. What should I do to overcome my asthma problem?

DAA, DNB
Pulmonologist, Bangalore
Hi. I understand your concerns. Asthma is a common and chronic problem causing symptoms. It can not be cured but can definitely be controlled so that you have a symptom free life. You will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis and also to assess severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

It is unlikely due to sinus issues having such feeling in the neck. For thyroid issues get TSH done. Since you can breathe easily and swallow well so nothing to worry. Still you can get a neck MRI scan done to rule out any swelling inside the neck.

I am 21 years old I have been suffering from cough since one year. Tell me what should I do?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then I will prescribe appropriate meds based on your detailed assessment. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

You should continue myonext. But main treatment of pcos is not drugs, it's life style changes- diet and exercise. If periods are delayed by more than 2 weeks, you should consult gynecologist to take drugs for starting periods.

I am feeling difficulty in breathing and I take seroflo inhaler for last 10 years. I feel that there will be side effect but not showing it. Now my question is can I be curable these breathing problem because I take 1pill in one day, is it psylogically effect on me of taking or how can I be cured from it. Please help me.

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
Seroflo inhaler being used by you, if for asthma, and inhaler medicines are considered the best choice and safest for asthma, in the treatment options available, although they may also have some side effects over long time, so it should be the goal that whatever least possible dose is able to control all the symptoms of asthma should be taken from the inhalers, because the medicines in inhaler form also contains different strengths. If the asthma has been under a good control it is the best because like many other diseases like high bp and diabetes, asthma also can be controlled and not cured in most of the cases. You should consult time to time with the doctor to find out any side effects that may have been caused by inhalers taken over many years.
