Get relief from acidity and heartburn

Stomach produces hydrochloric acid, which not only acts as protective barrier to the mucosal lining of abdomen but also helps digestion. But when there is over production of the acid it results in burning sensation in the chest area which is called heartburn. Untreated acidity leads to peptic ulcers.

Increased intra-abdominal pressure in cases of obesity and pregnancy also leads to heartburn sometime.

What remedies can be adopt for treating it?

- drink 2-3 glasses of cold water soon after getting up from bed early in the morning. It dilutes and washes away the acid secretion of overnight.
-take small meals at frequent intervals i. E, 3-4 hours once.
-take cold milk whenever acidity persists.
-tea, coffee, smoking, alcohol, hot and spicy food should be restrictly avoided.
-reduction of weight lessens intra-abdominal pressure and hence, is very important.
-avoid lying down immediately after taking food.
-avoid hot foods and hot liquids.
-avoid white sugar strictly as it enhances acidity by increasing fermentation. Use jaggery instead.
-take measures to avoid constipation.
- drink at least 8-12 glasses of water in a day.
-avoid spicy, irritant foods.
-take bland diet with minimum salt, as salt is alsio irritant.
-take plenty of natural antacids like coconut water, sweet buttermilk, cold milk and ashgourd juice.
-the chlorophyll present in green leafy vegetable is also an excellent agent to neutralise acidity.
-avoid sour fruits, if not suitable.

What was the main reason for gastric trabule and sugar etc what where the precautions to be take to prevent.
Hello, the two conditions mentioned are totally different. By saying" gastric trouble" is difficult to understand. But most often it hyperacidity, which is due more acid secreted in the stomach. There are many reasons why it may happen including irregular food habits, very high spicy food intake, repeated use of pain killers, alcohol use and smoking. Diabetes particularly t2 occurs due to either lack of insulin or resistance to its action or both. Plus over weight and inactivity are major contributors. For preventing diabetes one has to exercise regularly, maintain normal weight and take a healthy and balanced diet. Consume good deal of fruits, green leafy vegetables and salads. Avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Also avoid alcohol and smoking. Thanks for the question.

This could be a fissure with sentinel pile. Anal fissure improves with general measures but may require surgery. The general measures I would suggest are 1. Take lot of vegetables & fruits in your diet 2. Avoid chillies & spices 3. Take lot of fluids 4. Avoid constipation 5 periodically do anal exercises (alternately contracting & relaxing the buttocks, anal area & upper thighs) 6. Take sitz bath 3-4 times a day. This means sitting in a tub of warm water & doing anal exercises 7. Atleast once get it examined by a general surgeon. Purulent discharge might be due to a fistula. The surgeon will find it on examination.

Could not sleep nd eat well due to depression. suffering with severe gastric problem.
Without proper sleep and not eating anything it may effect on the gastric problem. Sleep well and diet food. Do not take undiet food. Take rest. Do not think too much about sleep. Normal sleep is the good for health. Do not take any medicine for sleep. It may be addiction. Develop busy schedule. Do hard work day time. Before going to bed do some work. Read books or newspapers or some personal work in home. After tired then go to bed. Do not go to bed with sleeping command. Sleep will not coming on your request. It may come automatically. Do any exercises walking before going go to bed. Fresh before bed. Read pleasantly. Then automatically sleep comes. When sleep problem solved then your gastric pain is also solved. Ok follow my suggestions. Best of luck. Have a good day.

Gastric trouble and homeopathy

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Gastric trouble and homeopathy
Homeopathy can be a great help for those who suffer from this too much gas problem. Homeopathic medicines nat phos, nat sulph, china, carbo veg, lycopodium, china and nux vomica lead the homeopathic table in treating this problem.
Carbo veg is suited for nearly every kind of symptoms that are associated with gas- belching, flatulence, pains, bloating. It is indicated in excessive gas formation and when everything eaten seems to get converted into gas. Carbo veg is also indicated in complaints of obstructive flatulency (pains around heart, abdomen or any where) that are relived by passing gas.
Lycopodium is indicated in cases where the involvement of lower abdomen is more pronounced also when gas is produced in the evening hours. Lycopodium patients usually complain of a constant sense of fermentation in the abdomen. China is more indicated in cases where whole abdomen bloats like a drum. Nux vomica suits those who are more affected by gas problem because of excessive consumption of alcohol and or rich food.

I want to ask you about the problem of acidity which continue for the last four months and not affected by medicines ...
Here are some home remedies to cure acidity.  - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead.  - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday.  - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity.  - Nariyal paani is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity.  - Drink a glass of milk - everyday.  - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before you hit the sack.  - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals.  - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc.  - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals.
