In summer I were suffering with cold and that too my nose is sneezing from one side only continuously water is coming from one side of the nose and the eye on that side too is paining why is this happening can you answer me a good advice to stop it.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello= you are definitely suffering from nasal allergy. It happens due to presence of pollen in air at the start of summer reason. According to ayurveda certain factors like improper digestion, waking up late, or faulty schedule decrease your immunity and hence make you prone to the allergy. Try this following ayurvedic treatment, you will notice definite results in next fifteen days- a) tab septilline 2 tab twice daily. B) kankasava 2 tsp twice daily with water after meals. C) bala tail nasal drop twice daily. D) along with these, follow this dietary regimen- do not drink more than 2 ltrs of water in a day. Avoid taking milk/liquid at bed time. Wake up before 6: 30 in the morning and go for skipping. (every second after 6: 30 am will add to your allergic issue.)

Hi, I'm Naveen, working as a software engineer, 22 years old. I used to wear specs, (-2.75 (left eye), 3.25 (right eye) I have severe head ache only on left side (forehead, top of the head and behind the head), and also severe pain at left eye, the pain in head looks like it was in nerve from eye, the pain was occurring only at particular iming (10 am to 10.30 am), the pain persists for 1 hour, after that no pain was there. Already I have consulted eye doctor 2 days ago, they said my power on left eye has beed varied, and the cylindrical axis variation in left eye show 1.5, so they asked me to scan my eye (they written as "orl scan" or "orb scan" in scan slip given to me, I need to know, I have to go forward for this scan, or else I have to consult any other general physician or neurologist.

DNB Ophtalmology, MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Orbscan is a test to measure and map the curvature of your cornea. Usually done if cylindrical number is increasing or changing to diagnose certain corneal disease which may impact your vision permanently if untreated. So yes, hee ophthalmologist suspected you at risk n advised the test. However. your headache is unlikely related to it. Especially given its fixed pattern. .Please consult a physician to rule out migraine. Some also advise maintaining a headache diary to identify patterns n possible triggers of headache.

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 25 years so your number will not increase much now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Sir I am having eye problem. Firstly it started from June. And I took medication from doctor then it reduced and now it started again. Before that I want to precisely state few points that before June 2016 nearly 2 years I waited for colleges from Usa and I got in November 2015 and for some constraints I dropped down. At that time I forcibly put down my sleep at 11 pm and 12 am. And for consultant of Usa colleges I used to sleep at 3 or 4 am. And I got jetlagged at 3 am to 4 am and used to wake up at 11 am in the morning. And in June I got burning sensation in my eyes because of vigorous computer browsing for colleges and replying mails and for Usa universities negotiations now I got an admission in a reputed college in hyderabad. Now the problem here is from 8 am to night 12 pm I use to sit in front of computer and after 6 pm at practice time I am getting mild eye pain and headache and I can't concentrate on studies. Please give me solution and exercise if possible and food diet as well. I am a pure vegetarian. Thanks.

MS - Ophthalmology, FRF

Dear lybrate-user, we call this as computer vision syndrome. Following things you need to do (1) try to wash / splash water every 2 hourly (2) blink your eyes every half hour (3) keep your computer screen 20 degree below your eye level (4) you can use anti glare glasses (5) put lubricating eye drops (6) have proper sound sleep 6-8 hours in day (7) plenty of water and healthy diet (8) position yourself away from air condition blower in your home office or in car warm regards.

I have eye floaters in both eye since 15 days I also went to eye specialist for retina examines but there is no defect, so should I worried about retina detachment. If possibilities of detachment how much maximum time it take for detach.

Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, DOMS

Hello in eye we have 2 segments: anterior and posterior. In posterior segment we have a gel called vitreous this vitreous is made of collagen fibres. In some people, these collagen fibres gets meshed up and they start floating in vitreous gel when light enters the eye, these meshed collagen fibres cast a shadow on retina which is seen as floaters by patient. There is no treatment for this just avoid seeing them these are entirely normal consult ophthalmologist if these suddenly increase in number only a very few patients with floaters develop retinal detachment This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult your ophthalmologist for detailed examination.

I have yellow eyes since 4 years. It is light yellow. When I take bath after some time goes red. After some time it goes in yellow position.

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
Could be due to allergy. Allergy can be controlled easily using eye drops. But there are many eye drops and specific eye drops can only be prescribed after seeing the eye clinically as treatment depends on severity. Also dip a handkerchief in little cold water and keep over closed eyes. You will feel better.

Hello! I m 16 years. I have a problem that I m not able to see the far objects. Also I m not able to see the written board in the classroom. Dr. Has prescribed me spectacles. please tell me what should I do rather then using spectacles.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, If you are having power spectacles then do wear those as continue use of spectacles which will help in preventing further growing of your power. So, keep on using them as well as start following as per the instructions as below: Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

My 1 5-year-old brother has asthma. What is the effect of using an asthma preventer long-term? I heard that using it for years might cause bone shrinkage. Is it true? Are there any vitamins or supplements to help vision?

Check the vitamin d levels. Using inhaler properly and rinsing mouth after using inhalers will prevent the side effects.
