Have Pleasant Meals: Meal time should be a pleasant time rather than a hurried affair. You should thoroughly enjoy every meal. Listening to soothing music while dining can be very helpful. Furthermore, research conducted by Professors Brian Wansink and Koert van Ittersum at Cornell University suggest that by eating in larger cups and bowls, one may increase the consumption of food compared to when eating in smaller cups and bowls.

Sir I have yellow spots on eyebrows. I consult to local doctor he told me cholesterol problem. Kindly tell me about. ...
Hye. Thank you for your query. You need to understand that these spots have appeared due to hypercholestrolemia. You need to improve your diet to reduce cholesterol levels, maintain weight and reduce unwanted fats in the body. In order to lose weight, fats and cholesterol you must eat sensibly and exercise to burn off calories and fats. Eat as per the body's needs. Food that is not used to fuel the body is stored as fat. A major component of losing fats or cholesterol is to make smarter food choices. Here's how: limit non-nutritious foods, such as: sugar, honey, syrups and candy, pastries, donuts, pies, cakes and cookies, soft drinks, sweetened juices and alcoholic beverages cut down on high-fat foods by: choosing poultry, fish or lean red meat. Choosing low-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling, steaming, grilling and boiling. Avoiding high-fat snacks like chips and chocolate. Avoiding fried foods. Using less margarine and mayonnaise. Avoiding high-fat gravies, cream sauces and cream-based dishes. Avoid junk, processed, packaged and proprietary foods. Eat a variety of foods, including: fruit and vegetables, whole grains, breads, cereal, rice and pasta, dairy products, such as low-fat or non-fat milk or yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and low-fat cheese, protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, dals and legumes, or beans and nuts should be included in your diet. Change your eating habits: eat three balanced meals a day to help control your hunger. Watch portion sizes and eat small servings of a variety of foods. Choose low-calorie snacks. Eat only when you are hungry and stop when you are satisfied. Eat slowly and try not to perform other tasks while eating. Find other activities to distract you from food, such as walking, taking up a hobby or being involved in the community. Include regular exercise in your daily routine. At least 30 minutes of regular exercise is needed to reduce cholesterol levels. Take a glass of water with a teaspoon ginger juice, a pinch of haldi, a teaspoon of lime juice and honey. Take this on waking up and at night after meals.

Hello doctor, I'm pregnant and my period date was 18 April. According to me 4th month is going to complete if I count with April. Should I count April month or should not count it.

Hello doctor, I'm pregnant and my period date was 18 April. According to me 4th month is going to complete if I count...
Dear lybrate user. I can understand. The development of pregnancy is counted from the first day of the woman's last normal menstrual period (LMP), even though the development of the fetus does not begin until conception, which is about two weeks later. You must count April dates if your last menstruation date is in April. Take care.

Im 26 years older, I'm suffering with baldness, When I visited doctor for hair treatment they did hair mineral test, they found high iron in my body, High iron will effect my health.

You might have gone to a quack. There is nothing like high iron in the body. You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy for faster results. Please call me or contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.

Casual Sex- Good And Bad Served In One!

MBBS, DPM - Psychiatry

Casual Sex- Good And Bad Served In One!

In a conservative society like that of India, premarital sex or casual sex is still a taboo. With the fast changing trend in the society, some parents may consider dating and premarital sex to be normal but the same cannot be said for a major part of our society who still consider these relations as scandalous and unethical.

No one can be moral policed here for the choices they make. While some may engage in casual sex owing to the sexual urges, some may want to enjoy their lives without the promises of love, commitment or restrictions. While there are still many people who believe in love, the younger generation is more inclined towards casual sex.

Before labelling anyone with a tag, it is important to understand why do people go for casual sex? Are they commitment phobic or are there some underlying factors that have gone unnoticed and unattended?

Why do people go for casual sex?
Also known as Recreational Sex, casual sex is all about enjoying the moment and moving on in life.

  • Most people opt for casual sex as it gives them a sense of freedom where they can enjoy life and yet remain single and not committed.
  • Some people hate restrictions that they may have to deal with if in a relationship.
  • Believe us, but research says people who fear betrayal and separation often go for casual sex.
  • Some people are of the belief that getting into a relationship can spell doom for their career. Hence, they prefer casual sex to a committed relationship.
  • People who have a liberal view about love and sex feel relaxed and stress-free after the casual sex. In fact, quite a few people go for casual sex to beat stress and anxiety (both personal as well as professional).
  • For some, casual sex act as a mean to break free from the shackles of inhibitions and awkwardness.
  • While in casual sex, you can be yourself as there will be no one to judge you or your performance.
  • Strangely, some people discover their true self during casual sex. It gives them a direction, an idea about what they want from life.

Demerits
With so many benefits, casual sex comes as the best option available. But what is a bed of roses without thorns?

  • Not knowing the person you are having sex with can be risky. Incidences of STD and other related disorders are more likely to affect people going for casual sex.
  • People get into casual sex to deal with stress and anxiety, yet the casual sex may end up leaving you mentally and emotionally drained and exhausted. Research suggests many people suffer from depression post a casual sex. There are chances that the casual fling may turn into something serious, at least for one of the partners. With time it may turn into a fatal attraction resulting in anxiety and depression.

Casual sex is a choice made by two individuals who prefer not to be in love. While it may be a boon for some, it can also turn out to be a bane for many. Drawing conclusions at this stage are not possible. It is an individual choice where you are solely responsible for both the good and the bad that comes with it. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
